On January 22Caroline Patek answered the question:It’s no secret that New York City is a capital of world-class shopping, so it only makes sense that Graff Diamonds has an outpost here. Designed by famed architect Peter Marino, a frequent Graff store collaborator, Graff Diamonds’ flagship New York store is located on the corner of Madison Avenue and 61st Street. To celebrate the opening of the striking 4,000-square-foot space, Graff Diamonds cut and polished the massive 100.57-carat Star of America diamond, making it the largest D flawless octagonal step cut diamond in the world. The store’s central location also puts you within easy reach of the area’s other luxury stores and boutiques, as well as the city’s most famous green space, Central Park.
On November 18David Burke answered the question:It’s not much of a name, but down by the old seaport under the Brooklyn Bridge, they’re starting to change that more to add condos. I like Chelsea. I like Soho. I have a restaurant [David Burke Kitchen] in Soho, so I wouldn’t want to live there because it’d be too close. I also like Tribeca. Upper East Side, I like, but I’ve been working there since ’92 so it’s not as exciting to me to live there. And I like Harlem for what’s happening with the building and renovations.
On November 18David Burke answered the question:Fishtail by David Burke — that’s my place; that’s one of the best. Le Bernardin for sure, on the higher end. I think Aquagrill is very good; it’s in Soho. BR Guest has a couple of good seafood restaurants and Blue Water Grill is one of them. Oceana in Midtown is very good. And then you’ve got all the sushi restaurants that are not really considered seafood restaurants, but they still have good fish.
On November 18David Burke answered the question:I spent many years with Smith & Wollensky. Peter Luger has great beef. I think that Minetta Tavern has a great steak. Smith & Wollensky and Maloney & Porcelli are still very, very good. And for a scene, Del Frisco’s is pretty good. They have a better, energetic bar scene.
