With its understated yet elegant interior design and classic Beaux-Arts style architecture, The Peninsula New York is the perfect venue for a classic New York wedding. However, the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel often plays host to weddings and receptions, so be sure to book a date well in advance.
Within the hotel there are several venues from which to choose, including the 3,300-square-foot Peninsula suite; the trendy rooftop lounge, Salon de Ning; or one of the five function rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 180 people. We love the 1,600-square-foot Gramercy room, with its luxurious silk drapery, abundance of natural light and sweeping views of Fifth Avenue.
The New York hotel can help you plan pretty much every aspect of your special day, whether you choose to work with your own wedding planner or one provided by the hotel. The Peninsula New York also has a florist on contract who can prepare any type of flower arrangement to suit your tastes and budget.
If you go with the hotel’s wedding package, you’ll be treated to an open bar, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, a four-course dinner, red and white wine and a champagne toast. The package starts at $350 per person, with a minimum of 40 guests, and you can add on other details, such as a three-tier wedding cake, bartenders and coat check staffers. The package also includes a free night’s stay in a bridal suite (usually a grand suite, though you can request another), where you’ll enjoy rose petals scattered on the plush bed, chilled champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. Typical bridal suites overlook Central Park and come decked out with chandeliers, black marble bathrooms and a 52-inch plasma-screen TV. It will be the perfect capper to your big day.
