The Peninsula New York underwent major renovations from 2008 to 2010, including the refurbishment and updating of all guest rooms and suites. The Peninsula Hotels’ Hong Kong-based design team gave the guestrooms a fresh look with a soft gray, taupe and gold color palette plus new furniture, carpeting and drapery. The beds are newly outfitted with crisp linens from D. Porthault, a French luxury linen house. Suites also got a modern look, with sophisticated accent colors like blue, gray and green, plus new living room furniture, including buttery leather chairs and sofas that double as full beds. For the busy business traveler, The Peninsula New York also added new oversized desks and all-in-one printer, fax and copier machines to every guestroom and suite. It’s these kinds of amenities and constant attention to providing the ultimate guest experience that earned The Peninsula New York a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating.
In addition to the guest rooms, The Peninsula New York also added and updated several other parts of the luxury hotel, giving you another reason to visit if you haven’t stopped by lately. In 2008, the hotel added Salon de Ning, a trendy rooftop bar, and in 2009 it unveiled the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Peninsula Spa. The lobby got a new, brighter color scheme and The Gotham Lounge got fresh carpeting and new seating. The hotel feels fresh and new, but still exudes that old-world elegance that characterizes Midtown Manhattan.
