Set on 340 acres in the heart of Virginia’s Horse Country, Salamander Resort & Spa is just an hour’s drive from Washington D.C. — and a beautiful drive at that. Surrounded by rolling hills and quaint villages, the luxury destination resort is conveniently located near some of Virginia’s best offerings. There are 50 wineries within a 60-minute drive and countless equestrian events throughout the area. Salamander Resort & Spa sits at 500 North Pendleton Street in Middleburg, Virginia, and while you are completely set back from the town when you’re on property, keep in mind that it’s only a seven-minute walk from the hotel’s front door to downtown Middleburg — trust us, it has been timed.
One of the most appealing things about Salamander Resort & Spa is that although the entire resort is technically 340 acres, only 140 of those are cleared. That means that there are miles upon miles of hiking, biking and riding trails. And in case you didn’t bring your own horse along (which, by the way, you are more than welcome to do), you can head down to the 22-stall barn and get something arranged.
