The entrance at Water’s Edge, Shanghai is stunning, with the serene, ripple-free infinity pool at eye level. On the rare occasion that Shanghai has a perfectly blue sky, it is reflected in the pool, with the dimly lit, veiled lamps and cushioned lounge chairs mirrored as well. The entryway is flooded with light because of the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the pool is accented with high metal arches and gigantic lacquered stones. At night, the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa has an altogether different feel, with the windows turning indigo black and the lamps reflecting in the water, creating a more romantic, intimate vibe.
