Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Promising breathtaking views of Shenzhen Bay and the city skyline, each room feels like a sophisticated private residence, featuring a creamy ivory palette offset with dark woods and velvet textures. They’re spacious, too, with even the smallest rooms measuring an impressive 430 square feet.
  • Meanwhile, chic suites have at least double the space. The two most prestigious accommodations, the Presidential and Chairman’s suites, stretch over 2,500 and 4,200 square feet, respectively, and come complete with lavish touches like marble fireplaces, marble flooring and, in the latter, even a grand piano.
  • The Langham brand may have been built on timeless European aesthetics, but the interiors at this Shenzhen hotel hold a few welcome surprises. The design primarily leans on Western aesthetics, albeit with Eastern touches — picture four-poster beds and chevron wood floors punctuated with dark teak furniture and Chinese latticework.
  • Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the sun-kissed outdoor pool and Gazebo bar offer lots of space to lounge, take a dip or sip on a refreshing cocktail. Meanwhile, the 82-foot-long indoor lap pool features underwater lighting and mood music — ideal for the chilly winter months.
  • Unmatched rest and relaxation await at Chuan Spa. In this refuge, where you’ll be surrounded by jade-hued marble, practitioners draw on the five elements of traditional Chinese medicine (wood, earth, fire, water and metal) to personalize each treatment. The spa maintains a wide range of experiences, from jet-lag therapy and hot stone massages to balancing facials and reflexology foot massages.
  • A Langham Club is always a highlight, and the exclusive lounge in Shenzhen is no exception. Occupying the 22nd and 23rd floors, this marble-clad oasis provides butler service, cocktails and canapés, afternoon tea and free use of the library boardroom, among other benefits.

The Food

  • A famous name in the world of Cantonese cuisine, T’ang Court contains just a handful of tables and eight private dining rooms to ensure a truly intimate, personalized fine-dining experience. The kitchen specializes in refined southern Chinese cuisine, serving dishes like fried dumplings stuffed with shrimp and crab meat, wok-fried prawns in black soy sauce and delicious barbecued pork.
  • The luxury hotel harks back its London roots daily with an exquisite British afternoon tea at Palm Court. During this dining experience, savor fluffy scones, mini banh mi and gorgeous opera cakes paired with premium teas, Perrier-Jouët champagne or cocktails.
  • Executive pastry chef Sean Hu creates edible art for Treasures & Scent, the hotel’s divine pastry shop and confectionery. From hand-crafted chocolates and cakes to seasonal sweets, the gourmet treats here are a worthy indulgence.
  • While Duke’s, an elegant restaurant on the third floor, is known for its tomahawk steaks, fresh seafood and excellent wine cellar, you can also swing by just to enjoy the live jazz and classic libations.
  • Offering an elevated buffet experience, Silk spoils you with a bounty of seafood, Chinese classics and Western breakfast staples prepared at live cooking stations. There’s something for every taste and then some.
