With more than 20 miles of trails on its grounds, The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is a runner’s paradise — especially for those in search of challenging terrain. Trails are assigned one of four levels of difficulty, depending on their elevation change; the difference can be as little as 350 feet or as much as 4,000 feet. These mountain and canyon trails can also be hiked or biked (mountain bikes can be borrowed from the hotel).
Road racers will also find plenty of pavement in and around the Five-Star hotel. Since The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is tucked away from Tucson at the base of the Tortolita Mountains, the surrounding roads are residential and not heavily trafficked. Just be sure to keep your eye on the road when the distractingly beautiful scenery demands otherwise.
