The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is home to 27 Jack Nicklaus-designed holes of golf. Divided into three nine-hole courses that range from 2,300 to 3,200 feet in elevation, each hole offers views of the Tortolita Mountains and their mighty saguaro cacti, and several run through a secluded canyon. The course was designed to be challenging — it has hosted the Accenture Match Play Championship since 2009 — but enjoyable for non-pros as well.
The Five-Star hotel's guests enjoy complimentary club rentals and can enroll in family, individual or group lessons that include video analysis with voice-over instruction and graphics. It’s a great golf course for teaching the kids too: Play is complimentary for guests 15 and younger when accompanied by a paying adult, and kids can join adults’ lessons free of charge.
