Innovative treatments are centered on organic and eco-friendly therapies including herbs used by the Hohokam Indians who once lived in the area. By the time your day at the spa is over, you’ll be one with the desert.

Like the resort it resides in, this Ritz-Carlton spa seamlessly blends into its desert surroundings. This is especially true at the outdoor serenity pool where Native American carvings were left undisturbed and are visible from the relaxation deck.
The 10 treatment rooms are clustered around an outdoor courtyard, taking advantage of the almost 300 sunny days that Tucson experiences each year.
Sip on lemon- or orange-infused ice water or various types of hot tea, and munch on dried fruits and nuts, apples and citrus fruits from the resort’s own citrus grove in the cozy relaxation room.
You’ll see shelves filled with products, candles and other such gifts available for purchase in the reception area of the luxe spa. These include the signature Ritz-Carlton scented products as well as other brands.
Exclusive to spa goers only, the pool is quieter and less visited crowded than the hotel’s pool, so it’s a great place to get in some alone time while you can.

Things to Know

Experiencing the holistic treatments of the desert spa is as simple as picking up the phone to make an appointment. When you do, the staff can help you decide between treatments like The Dove Mountain Detox Body Wrap or the signature massage.
Be sure to book at least a week in advance to ensure you get the treatments you really want.
The facility welcomes day guests as well as hotel patrons.
Check into the spa at least 30 minutes before your appointment to use all of the facilities.

The Treatments

When you need full-body revitalization, try the Gemstone Radiance Journey. An organic gemstone facial and facial massage will leave your skin looking radiant and more even toned. Then gemstone placements and rebalancing massage will better your body.
The Gemstone Healing Massage employs Tucson gems for energy work and massage. Your therapist will use them to treat weary muscles, ease stress and boost energy.

As part of the Desert Gemstone Ritual, choose the stone that calls to you, whether it’s amethyst’s gentle energy or citrine’s joy. Sip herbal tea as your feet soak. Afterward, your body will undergo a mild dry exfoliation, followed by an aromatic bath and then a massage with healing gemstone placement.

The Facilities

The wet areas are indulgent, so you’ll want to be sure to spend some time relaxing in them.
In each relaxation area/locker room — there are separate ones for men and women — there’s an outdoor area with a dry sauna and a steam room.
Sitting outside between the two is a Jacuzzi that faces a fireplace. It’s the perfect setting to relax before a massage and get your muscles warmed up.
There’s also a coed saltwater pool outside, where you can sprawl out on one of the loungers or a tanning island in the middle of the pool or rent out one of the bed-like cabanas.
Showers are stocked with bath products so you can wash off before or after treatments.
