Capri

Easily accessible from Naples and Pompeii, the rocky isle of Capri is one of the most popular travel destinations on the Amalfi Coast. Though it is constantly filled with sightseers, don’t let the holiday-resort façade deter you — the island’s Italian charms override any souvenir-seeking groups that may be roaming the cobblestoned streets. The sun-drenched island is composed of two villages, Capri and Anacapri. Though Capri is the main attraction, Anacapri is home to the highest point and best vistas. Both villages are strewn with ancient alleyways that wind through majestic panoramas filled with the sea and citrus groves. The island of limestone rock is as much an ideal hub for visiting the rest of the Campania region, as it is a vacation in itself.
