Milan

Known as Italy’s cosmopolitan design center — not to mention the economic capital of Italy and second only to Rome for its cultural and political life — Milan has a lot to offer. While tourists often pass through town on their way to the next Italian destination, Milan is worth a visit. It boasts important works of art like “The Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci and the notable structures such as the Duomo, the third largest Gothic cathedral in the world. And then of course there is the unrivaled shopping — all the Italian and international haute-couture designers have their mega-stores in the Fashion Quad — and the vibrant nightlife. Despite its centuries of history, Milan has a thoroughly modern feel.
