Travelers visit the Tampa area for the golf, museums, shopping and even big theme parks, like Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. The business and vacation hub of Florida’s West Coast, Tampa is the state’s third-largest city. Within it you’ll find hot spots like Ybor City, a Spanish, Cuban and Italian enclave of narrow streets and cigar makers. But Tampa is also a good jumping-off point for exploring neighbor cities: Bradenton provides fishing, as well as 20 miles of white-sand beaches. Speaking of beaches, Clearwater is another sandy destination, as is Clearwater Beach, whose shores extend throughout the four-mile-long island. Golfers should opt for St. Petersburg and Sarasota — the latter is nicknamed "The Cradle of Golf" because the first Florida course was laid out there in 1886.
