Hotel Miramalfi

Cliffside luxury above the Amalfi Coast
VERIFIED LUXURY
Since Francesco Mansi opened Hotel Miramalfi in 1956, generations of his family have shaped the cliffside haven above Amalfi. A 2022 renovation brought a contemporary edge to its mid-century roots, combining clean-lined interiors with Mediterranean colors, natural materials and views that keep the Tyrrhenian Sea at the center of the experience.

The luxury hotel’s connection to the water continues below the property, where the cliff gives way to the Beach Club and direct access to the sea, along with a stunning saltwater pool carved into the rocks. Back at the hotel, dining ranges from the Amalfi-inspired cooking of Donna Emma restaurant to the more casual Azur and Mario’s lounges. You can also charter the hotel’s private boat for a different perspective on the coast or take the complimentary shuttle into Amalfi. Though no one would blame you if you spent all your time at the hotel soaking up the astounding vistas.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Hotel Miramalfi pulls design cues from mid-century Italian style, with checkerboard floors, vintage photography and a Mediterranean palette of blue and white.
  • Sit on the checkerboard-floored terrace at Donna Emma for a dazzling water backdrop to dishes like sea bass with capers, olives and cherry tomatoes or seafood risotto.
  • An elevator cuts through the cliff to connect the Amalfi hotel with its Beach Club, avoiding the steep descent. From the Beach Club, a ladder leads directly into the sea, while a beautiful saltwater pool offers an equally refreshing alternative.
  • All rooms come with a vine-covered arched terrace overlooking the mesmerizing sea and coast. Depending on the accommodation, the terrace may have loungers, tables and chairs or even small lawns so you can take in the view more comfortably.
  • A sea-facing fitness room, outdoor yoga and alfresco spa treatments provide ways to take in the Mediterranean vistas while seeing to your wellness needs.

The Rooms

  • Accommodations range from approximately 269-square-foot Superior Rooms to the 646-square-foot Executive Suite, with larger categories adding freestanding soaking tubs and more expansive sea-view terraces.
  • The rooms are minimalist yet sophisticated with white walls and clean-lined furnishings that keep things bright and airy. Cobalt, turquoise or violet accents (depending on your room) add a pop of Amalfi-inspired color.
  • Vibrant blue and turquoise mosaic tiles bring a distinctly Mediterranean note to the bathrooms, echoing the sea beyond the windows. Each features a dual-headed shower, a Dyson hairdryer and Sicilian Ortigia bath products.
  • Brass sconces and gold-toned fixtures introduce a subtle mid-century influence against the otherwise contemporary interiors in the luxury hotel.
  • Depending on the category, you’ll find a balcony, terrace or garden, giving you a place to take in the Mediterranean without leaving your room.
