Quintessence Hotel

Anguilla's grand tropical manor
VERIFIED LUXURY
Nestled discreetly on a hill amid lush greenery and tropical gardens, Quintessence Hotel is an elegant manor. Overlooking the white sands and sparkling blue waters of Anguilla’s Long Bay Beach, this architecturally stunning property embodies a timeless elegance and sophistication, and it just opened its doors in January 2018.

This sumptuous stay boasts a warm and welcoming feel, without compromising on luxury. Case in point: the boutique hotel showcases an extensive array of Haitian art — the largest such collection outside of Haiti — personally curated by the property’s owner, American attorney Geoffrey Fieger.

Sincere hospitality, exceptional cuisine and exclusivity (not to mention an unbeatable location) come together at Quintessence Hotel to create your next Caribbean dream destination.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Luxury is in the details at Quintessence Hotel, from the large, white handcrafted rose by artist Khachik Bozoghlian ornamenting the main entrance to the gorgeous Steinway piano in the grand lobby and the giant chess set sitting on a well-manicured lawn.
  • Some of Anguilla’s most beautiful stretches of sand are within walking distance of the boutique hotel. Hop on a golf cart to visit secluded Long Bay Beach or take the short 15-minute stroll to Meads Bay.
  • You’ll be pampered at this intimate manor with concierge and personal 24-hour butler services. A private car is also available to transport you to your next adventure.
  • Relax and rejuvenate at Aidan Spa. Rather than a long list of prescribed treatments, the facility maintains a curated menu of services that are tailored to suit your specific needs.
  • With just nine accommodations, Quintessence Hotel can feel like your own private residence. You can even make this dream a reality by renting out the whole property.

Things to Know

  • Given the museum-like quality of Quintessence Hotel, the property is not recommended for children under the age of 12. With its intimate nature, the Anguilla hotel is best suited to couples looking for a little R&R.
  • The resort offers a private garage with elevator access to each floor. This convenient attribute may be desirable for those seeking exclusivity.
  • Excursions, including day trips to St. Barts and neighboring cays, snorkeling, catamaran cruises and fishing expeditions, can be booked through the hotel.
  • If you need a new bathing suit (or just some retail therapy), the hotel’s Keenie’s Bikinis and Beyond carries designer clothing, jewelry, yoga wear and, of course, bikinis.
  • Art aficionados should pop into the new Q Art Gallery, which offers art and gifts inspired by the Q Collection.

The Rooms

  • The accommodations are spacious, opulent and uniquely designed. On the top floor, the Joseph Penthouse features a large panoramic dining terrace with breathtaking views, while the simpler Garden Suites are surrounded by lush exotic greenery and include a separate entrance for extra privacy.
  • In Quintessence’s suites, nestle into the comfort of handcrafted Hastens Swedish mattresses or slip into a Roman soaking tub for some deep relaxation.
  • Timelessly designed bathrooms include Turkish marble, oversized walk-in showers and freestanding tubs stocked with Gilchrist & Soames toiletries.
  • In addition to an eclectic selection of intriguing Haitian artwork and antiques, the rooms are accentuated with décor in brilliant hues of blue, green, red and yellow, which captures the essence of Caribbean luxury.

The Restaurants

  • Julians Restaurant is Quintessence Hotel’s tropical French bistro. Helmed by Lyon-born chef Dominique Thevenet, this acclaimed venue serves up Caribbean flavors with a European twist, such as conch-stuffed chicken breast or jerk pork tenderloin.
  • The Q Wine Cellar carries a selection of more than 900 bottles of wine from around the world and has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year since opening in 2018. Designed in a Tuscan style, the cellar provides a cozy and sophisticated setting for private dinners and intimate tastings.
  • Private dining is the epitome of the culinary experience at the luxury hotel. Whether you prefer an exclusive seat at the chef’s table, the starry-night backdrop and cool breeze provided by the Grand Gazebo, or open-air dining amid verdant gardens at Cedar House, there is a customizable option to suit any occasion.
