Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead

A quiet Buckhead retreat

Situated in the heart of the tony Buckhead neighborhood, Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead sits amid much action along the main artery Peachtree Road. Top malls Lenox Square, Shops Around Lenox and Phipps Plaza are all within walking distance.

The 42-story Robert A.M. Stern-designed limestone tower stands out along the skyline, but its façade inconspicuously hides behind the standalone Del Frisco's Grille. It allows the Atlanta hotel to be a respite in the middle of the bustle.

Unwind in the indoor pool, the three-floor spa, the tranquil marble lobby or the private English gardens tucked away in the courtyard all while enjoying top-notch service (including your own personal concierge) at Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The placid, verdant garden is a refuge. Head there for sunset cocktails and delicious bites surrounded by foliage.
  • Waldorf Astoria Spa is the ideal place to relax after a long day. Equipped with 13 treatment rooms, tailored services, vitality pools and steam rooms, the spacious spa will not disappoint.
  • One of the most notable aspects of this hotel is its location. There’s so much within walking distance that you won’t need a car to get to your next adventure. If you do want to explore farther out, the concierge can arrange for the hotel’s car service.
  • Reserve a room with a balcony for hard-to-come-by vistas of Peachtree Road and neighboring Midtown.
  • Dine at Brassica, which serves French brasserie fare infused with Southern tradition. Expect dishes like ribeye steak and eggs and citrus-ricotta pancakes in the morning, and seared trout with pecan candied bacon and steak frites in the afternoon and evening.

Things to Know

  • The Waldorf Astoria is a pet-friendly hotel.
  • Set aside some time to take in the collection of contemporary art in the lobby from the nearby Bill Lowe Gallery.
  • The Buckhead hotel serves afternoon tea on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • If you need to hold an event, there’s an array of indoor and outdoor meeting spaces and open banquet halls that span a total of almost 11,000 square feet.

The Rooms

  • The rooms and suites at the Atlanta hotel are tastefully decorated with a neutral color palette and accented with earth tones, plush pillows and textured curtains.
  • The spacious white marble bathrooms feature a separate shower and tub and plenty of room for maneuvering and dressing.
  • More than 1,000 square feet, the One Bedroom Suite with two terraces overlooking Peachtree Road is one of the prized accommodations.

Nearby Attractions

  • The Atlanta History Center, about two miles away from the luxury hotel, is a must for history buffs or anyone interested in learning about the city and the people who contributed to this lively community. You can spend an entire day exploring the 33 acres of gardens, historic houses and thought-provoking exhibitions.
  • Three of the city’s best upscale malls are steps from the hotel. Buzzing Lenox Square and Shops Around Lenox sit adjacent to one another on Peachtree Road, and the more sedate Phipps Plaza is diagonally opposite of them.
  • More excellent shopping awaits at the Buckhead Village District three miles down the road. After perusing luxury shops from Dior to Diptyque, savor a croque monsieur or madame or duck leg confit with celery root and chestnuts for lunch at Le Bilboquet.
  • If you want to venture outside of Buckhead and enjoy nature, find Ponce City Market (which also is worth visiting for its food hall and shops) and walk the Atlanta BeltLine to Piedmont Park.
  • Some of the city’s top restaurants reside in Buckhead. Chai Yo from respected local chef DeeDee Niyomkul serves flavorful modern Thai; intimate Aria does fine dining; and St. Cecilia comes from Atlanta stalwart Ford Fry.
