Steigenberger Wiltcher's

A contemporary classic in Brussels
VERIFIED LUXURY

Steigenberger Wiltcher’s stately white Beaux Arts exterior has been an architectural gem in Brussels since the hotel debuted in 1913, attracting guests through the years, including artist René Magritte, Lady Gaga and, most recently, Mick Jagger. Wander the lobby’s marble flooring and take in the dark, rich wood accents and floor-to-ceiling windows and you will still find historic accents, like ornate Beaux Arts wrought-iron banisters and a bright Art Nouveau glass roof in nearby Café Wiltcher’s. But the spacious 267 rooms and suites take on a more contemporary yet still refined feel.

Afterward, dine alfresco on La Terrasse or at chef Kevin Lejeune's excellent French-inspired restaurant, La Canne En Ville. Enjoy a casual meal in a comfortable lounge chair at Loui Bar & Restaurant. The wine and cocktails provide a consistent draw, but there’s also an extensive whiskey list and on  Monday to Friday, a special chef’s market menu. Come hear live music Friday and Saturday evenings.

This beautiful property accomplishes the impressive feat of combining modern comforts with traditional Brussels charm, providing you with the best of both worlds.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The nearly 1,000-square-foot duplex suite spans two floors. One is for sleeping and the other a work-lounge space. It's functional and elegant, plus, each floor has separate entrances. Though for the grandest accommodations, check into the 2,530-square-foot Royal Suite
  • While the public areas in the Brussels hotel feature antique marble floors and classic dark wood details, the rooms have more of a modern touch. Expect shades of cream, lavender, gray and charcoal, as well as white marble-lined bathrooms with Acqua di Parma toiletries.
  • Open 24 hours a day, the hotel fitness room comes equipped with all the amenities needed to work up a sweat.
  • Afterward a workout, head downstairs to a secluded, light-accented pool that's part of the adults-only Aspria Wellness Center (the amenities and services incur a fee). While you are there, enjoy a detoxifying algae body wrap; a deluxe, high-touch facial using essential oils by Clarins; a rose-quartz-enhanced body and scalp massage, or a soothing salt and oil body scrub.
  • At the hotel's main restaurant, the dark and modern La Canne En Ville, the menu changes every three months to spotlight the most seasonal of fare. Choose from a variety of prix fixe menus that includes a business lunch, a vegetarian option and a seven-course feast.
