The Peninsula Chicago

Service and style on the Mag Mile
VERIFIED LUXURY
The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Peninsula Chicago is the retreat of choice for stars and notables who come for the discreet, attentive service, delivered by a staff trained in the art of gracious hospitality.

Luxurious guest rooms are bright with light wood and muted earth tones, and the marble bathrooms have oversized tubs where you can soak while catching up on the news on the flat-screen TV.

A bedside control panel allows you to adjust the room's temperature, lighting, music and even the curtains all without having to leave the comfort of the 300-thread-count sheets. The skyline level spa and fitness center provide a reason to leave the comfort of the spacious, contemporary guest rooms.

Things to Know
  • If you happen to be in town during a Bulls game, you’ll probably see the life-sized lion statues that guard the entryway on East Superior Street sporting team shirts boasting their Chicago pride.
  • While the spectacular shops of the Magnificent Mile can be found just outside the front door, the Five-Star hotel is also home to a boutique from luxe fragrance brand Krigler in its lobby.
  • Satisfy your sweet tooth at this Chicago hotel with its weekly Chocolate Bar. This dessert delight features tasty treats and photo-worthy pastries you'll want to linger over for hours.
The Rooms
  • The guest rooms at The Peninsula Chicago are decorated in a style and design much like the public spaces: classic and elegant.
  • In the rooms, you’ll find traditional, classic whites, along with warm gold tones and splashes of earthy colors. The overall color scheme is neutral, approachable for both male and female guests alike, and very residential in its design.
  • The basic rooms at The Peninsula Chicago are spacious, at 531 square feet, and come complete with a comfortable seating area, generously sized work desk and private dressing area with ample storage and closet space.
  • Each marble bathroom has a deep-soaking tub with a built-in TV, a separate shower, vanity table and single sink vanity with generous countertop space and luxury Davi bath products, made exclusively for The Peninsula hotel chain.
The Restaurants
  • You’ll have plenty of dining options at The Peninsula Chicago where there are three restaurants — The Lobby, Z Bar and Shanghai Terrace — in addition to Pierrot Gourmet, a European-style café adjacent to the hotel.
  • The Lobby serves American dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also partake in a traditional afternoon tea service here as well.
  • For spectacular city views, and even more sensational sips, head up to the rooftop Z Bar. Dine on internationally inspired bites (Malaysian-style chicken satay, wagyu beef sliders) and creative cocktails among Chicago's see-and-be-seen scene.
  • Shanghai Terrace’s outdoor patio area is open seasonally, offering you Shanghai fare, Cantonese cuisine and delicious seasonal cocktails.
  • Decorated in the style of a little French bistro, Pierrot Gourmet next to the luxury hotel offers traditional seating options and larger “family style” tables. Pastries, tarts and other sweet treats are not to be missed — we love the signature sourdough tartines and chocolate-orange brioches — a must for any Francophile.
