Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa

An escape for golfers and getaway seekers
VERIFIED LUXURY
Set across 660 acres in North Texas, Omni PGA Frisco Resort serves as both a championship golf destination and a contemporary full-service resort. Developed in 2023 as the headquarters of the PGA of America, the property is designed to support tournament-level play while maintaining the accessibility and energy of a large leisure retreat. Architecture emphasizes openness and connection to the landscape, with broad terraces, expansive glazing and sightlines oriented toward sculpted green fairways and wide prairie skies. Downtown Dallas is a mere 35 miles south, but the sprawling resort is a world unto itself.

The layout accommodates a lively social component, anchored by a capacious, two-acre putting course called The Dance Floor. Surrounding restaurants and outdoor gathering areas remain active throughout the day and into the evening. The overall atmosphere is casual and welcoming, appealing to dedicated golf travelers, extended families and corporate groups seeking a destination that combines recreation, dining and polished accommodations in one setting. Everything is bigger in Texas? Omni PGA Frisco proves that old saw with acres to spare.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Two championship courses, a lighted short course and an expansive practice facility provide one of the most comprehensive golf experiences in the region. The Gil Hanse-designed Fields Ranch East course is a walking-only experience, and caddies are required for each player. Winds are notoriously predictable and strong, adding an extra challenge.
  • Dining venues, terraces and the central lawn create a defined hub that encourages guests to move easily among activities. Kids are as happy as grownups here, and the par-3 course (The Swing) is great for beginners. Club rentals are available — a few wedges and a putter are usually all that’s required.
  • Separate family-friendly and quieter, adult-oriented pools, supported by cabanas and prompt service, extend the resort’s appeal beyond golf — a summer-must given the customary sweltering heat.
  • Texas Modern interiors balance rustic regional materials with clean-lined modern design, maintaining a sophisticated but ranch-like atmosphere. Oak, limestone and brass predominate while floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views of the golf courses.
  • Accommodations at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort deliver a polished, modern Texas aesthetic without feeling cold or austere. Guest rooms are generous, with natural materials, soft lighting and large windows that keep the focus on the landscape. Suites provide room to spread out, while ranch houses deliver a private, residential feel for longer stays. Comfortable bedding, streamlined bathrooms and quiet, functional layouts make the rooms a cozy retreat after a long day on the golf course.

The Restaurants

  • The Omni PGA Frisco Resort offers one of the most varied culinary lineups in North Texas, with 13 venues ranging from polished steakhouse dining to casual, golfer-friendly hangouts. The resort’s restaurants are spread across the main hotel and the lively PGA District, giving guests a mix of refined meals, bustling social spaces and family-friendly options.
  • The resort’s marquee restaurant, Trick Rider delivers a Texas-forward steakhouse experience with premium cuts, seafood and shellfish served in a warm, upscale setting. It’s the most polished dining room on property, ideal for celebratory dinners or a refined night out. The 45-day, dry-aged prime tomahawk is a standout and a formidable challenge at 32 ounces.
  • Ryder Cup Grille is a relaxed, golf-themed venue perfect for post-round meals. Expect approachable American fare, generous portions, and a comfortable atmosphere that works for families and groups. Redfish tacos are a local specialty.
  • PGA District’s Ice House is a ranch-style indoor-outdoor bar and restaurant with hearty comfort food, a wide-ranging beer and cocktail list, and six live hitting bays equipped with Toptracer technology. It’s the social hub for golfers looking to unwind — with savory brisket and black pepper sausage smoked on premises.
  • Lounge by Topgolf is a high-energy space features chef-driven dishes, craft cocktails and immersive Swing Suites powered by Full Swing technology. Guests of the PGA District spot can play virtual golf or arcade-style games while enjoying elevated bar food like wild mushroom enchiladas.
  • Across the resort and PGA District, guests will find cafés, bars and quick-service spots serving everything from breakfast pastries to poolside snacks. Room service and private dining experiences round out the options for those seeking either convenience or a quieter meal.
