SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills, A Luxury Collection Hotel

Beverly Hills’ glamorous hot spot
Open since 2008, SLS Hotel Beverly Hills, A Luxury Collection Hotel remains the place to see and be seen. With its opulent but whimsical Philippe Starck design and dining by James Beard Award-winning chef José Andrés, the hotel’s hip factor continues to reign supreme in Los Angeles.

The Bazaar by José Andrés, the four-part nightlife epicenter, offers retail therapy in the Moss gift shop, molecular gastronomic dining at the only restaurant from the celebrity chef on the West Coast, liquid nitrogen cocktails at Bar Centro and tea and sweet treats at the Patisserie. With a 5,000-square foot spa, rooftop lounge and pool and all-day Tres restaurant, the chic SLS (which stands for Style Luxury Service) is a world unto itself with an abundance of stimulation — both visually and physically.
Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Located at the crossroads of Beverly Hills and the La Cienega corridor, this luxury hotel is ideal for exploring some of the City of Angels’ most sizzling scenes.
  • If you’ve never tried reconstructed olives that explode in your mouth or cotton candy foie gras lollipops, Rojo y Blanca — the Spanish tapas concept by José Andrés inside The Bazaar — is a must.
  • The 2,500-square-foot fitness center with Technogym state-of-the-art equipment is open 24 hours, just in case you need to work off that indulgent night at The Bazaar.
Things to Know
  • In less than a five- to 10-minute drive, you can stroll on glamorous Rodeo Drive, gritty Hollywood Boulevard or groovy Third Street or Melrose Avenue with its unique boutiques and restaurants.
  • During the fall and spring, the annual truffle dinners in SAAM — the chef’s private tasting room — featuring a 16-course black or white truffle tasting menu are always a sold-out affair.
  • Enter the dreamlike all-white haven of Ciel Spa, also Starck appointed, for a rejuvenating retreat from the city’s frenetic pulse.
  • Here, enjoy signature treatments with personalized attention such as the Soothe Life’s Stresses — a four-hour pampering that includes a detoxifying ritual, tea service, soak and massage.
The Rooms
  • Guest rooms are minimalist modern in a neutral color scheme of chrome, white and brown accents.
  • Throughout all 297 rooms, standards include Ciel spa bathroom amenities, Starck-designed leather furnishings, faux-mink blankets, rainfall showers and mirrored panels that conceal the flat-screen TV.
  • When hunger hits, the “Saints & Sinners” mini-bar is stocked with both healthy and splurge-worthy snacks, such as trail mix or Twix.
  • Hot tip: For the most romantic cityscape views at the Beverly Hills hotel, book suite 615, which also features Technogym Kinesis equipment and artwork by celebrity photographer Matthew Rolston.
The Restaurants
  • Chef Andrés’ food is like a circus for the taste buds; opportunities to explore the chef’s ingenuity are boundless as the menu changes seasonally.
  • For a power lunch (request table 31) or post-shopping recharge, Tres by José Andrés serves California-meets-Spanish cuisine with signature dishes like the Spanish prawns or rotisserie Jidori chicken.
  • On the weekends, the restaurant’s decadent brunch features an elaborate buffet of everything from seafood to sweet rolls.
  • Afternoon tea here, with both traditional and modern elements served daily in the cozy, fireplace-lit nooks, is divine as well. And there are always more of chef Andrés’ creations to sample around the clock with the 24-hour room service.
