  • The 7,000 square foot Sisley Spa (the only West Coast outpost from the luxe brand) has eight treatment rooms, a full-service manicure and pedicure salon and tranquility lounge.
  • Surrounded by plush lounge chairs, the heated pool is bound to make you appreciate the warm weather. Note that it is the only waterfront pool and whirlpool in Los Angeles.
  • The active set will want for nothing at this luxe Marina del Rey retreat. Opt for a traditional workout at the 24-hour fitness center or on the two lighted tennis courts, or hit the water for more adrenaline-inducing options, such as parasailing, stand-up paddleboarding and sport fishing.
  • The resort is perfectly perched between Venice Beach and Playa del Rey, putting you within arm's reach of the coast's top attractions. Take a day trip to Malibu for exquisite eats (check out Malibu Farm's original location) or head for Santa Monica to explore its famous pier.
Things to Know
  • When you want to take advantage of the Southern California sun, post up by the pool, a scene you may recognize from the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap.
  • The luxury hotel sits directly on the marina, from which you can venture to Catalina Island — a must-do during your stay.
  • The hotel is pet friendly and animals weighing less than 30 pounds can enjoy the luxurious surroundings and waterfront walking trails.
The Rooms
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey boasts 304 guest rooms, including 41 Club Level rooms and 12 suites. Each and every room has a balcony that provides city or water views.
  • The décor is classic. You can expect bold orange and gold hues alongside dark wood furniture.
  • The rooms have a rather nautical feel to them — appropriate considering all of the beautiful yachts docked just outside.
  • Each room also contains a marble-clad bathroom, 49-inch flat-screen TV and embellishments like sea urchin headboards to enhance the beachy atmosphere.
  • Up the luxury and book a room on the 11th-floor Club Level, and you’ll score access to the chic Club Lounge that’s stocked with snacks and libations all day.
The Restaurants
  • The nautical theme continues in the restaurant, Cast & Plow, with the wood floors echoing the interior of a grand dining room on a luxury ship, and outside, a patio, terrace and fire pit provide plenty of fresh-air options.
  • Everything is local and sustainable with many ingredients grown onsite at the hotel’s garden or just plucked from the nearby farmers markets.
  • The California cuisine is offered daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and brunch on Sunday.
  • There is something for everyone appetite on the menu, from housemade tagliatelle pasta to grilled mahi mahi sandwich to avocado toast.
  • If you can’t seem to tear yourself away from the pool, you can order grub from Wave Poolside Bar + Grill. Open during the summer months, the outdoor restaurant serves California cuisine that pairs perfectly with the views.
