Kudadoo Maldives Private Island

An ultra-exclusive, all-inclusive sanctuary
VERIFIED LUXURY

If you seek an ultra-exclusive Maldives escape, Kudadoo Maldives on the Lhaviyani Atoll delivers with just 15 expansive overwater Ocean Residences.

The residences are the work of renowned New York-based Japanese architect Yuji Yamazaki (you’ve seen his work at Armani shops), who has infused each residence with open airy spaces and extensive decks which step directly onto the reef abundant with tropical fish. The eco-friendly residences, which start at more than 1,000 square feet, form a ring from the private island, providing both unobstructed views of the ocean and absolute privacy from the other villas.

The Retreat, with enormous, sloping spaces of air and light, is adorned in solar panels that provide for the resort's electricity needs and this is just one aspect of the resorts extensive sustainability philosophy of “Luxury tread lightly.” The Retreat houses a spa, a 24-hour bar and restaurant, a fully up-to-the-moment gym, a large infinity pool, a Himalayan salt room, steam and sauna and indulgent cheese and wine cellars.

A dedicated butler will arrange for memorable experiences and anticipate your every need. Kudadoo’s exclusivity is matched by its devotion to being a property where an “anything, anytime, anywhere” concept means that anything is possible. The fully inclusive concept allows for dining on the beach, in your residence or one of five restaurants, which is complemented by an extensive list of wines. Add to this unlimited spa treatments, watersports, private excursions, padel tennis and diving to ensure the ultimate experience.

The carefully curated range of offerings is included in the price of your stay. This is one of few places in the world where you feel away from everything, but still have it all.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Kudadoo’s 13 one-bedroom and two two-bedroom Ocean Residences are oases. Wide sliding doors provide an always-outside feel, and they come with super-sized king beds, a sprawling infinity pool and daybeds on some of the largest private sundecks in the Maldives, marble and stone baths, Bang & Olufsen audio systems and large flat screens for streaming the latest music and movies.
  • Be sure to visit The Retreat’s cheese cellar, which carries a tasty range of some of the world’s best gourmet cheeses, all freely available for a pre-dinner nibble or even a middle-of-the-night snack.
  • Kudadoo’s Sulha Spa performs its treatments over water with the depths of the ocean below and the endless sky above, and it comes with a steam room, sauna and well-equipped gym where personal trainers, yoga instructors and meditation coaches are on call for your needs.
  • The spa’s Lonu Cave is a first in the Maldives, an indoor salt chamber whose walls are lined with mineral-rich age-old pink Himalayan salt. Services here include a salt stone therapy that leaves you cleansed and feeling renewed.
  • The restaurant never closes. Personal chefs are just that: choose what, when and where you wish to eat, whether in your villa, on the beach or on the sundeck while stargazing. Also, since it’s always 10 a.m. somewhere, the champagne brunch is available throughout the day.

Things to Know

  • Children 15 and under are only allowed to stay in the two two-bedroom residences.
  • Traveling with staff members? Kudadoo offers separate facilities that keep them nearby.
  • Your stay includes access to all kinds of watercraft (kite surfing, windsurfing, paddleboards, jet skis, wakeboards, etc.) and other experiences, such as scuba diving at the resort’s private sandbar, Dream Island. This is where you can take in additional views of the area’s vibrant reef after snorkeling near your terrace. Look for dolphins here.
  • For more land-based activities, a private speedboat takes you to sister property Hurawalhi Island Resort, where you can play tennis and other sports, or take in a meal at its well-known 5.8 Undersea (the largest all-glass underwater restaurant in the Maldives) or the Aquarium Restaurant serving modern Asian street dishes and teppanyaki.
