Fairmont Makati

A gleaming tower in Manila
Located in the Philippines’ central business district of Makati City, Fairmont Makati is a gleaming tower of modernity and comfort. The 280 tastefully contemporary guest rooms, restaurants and spa are spread across 30 levels.

The building was designed by international U.S.-based architectural firm Arquitectonica, and its sleek interiors were created by Bent Severin International. And while the Makati hotel is thoroughly stylish, it is also a tapestry of Filipino culture and influence.
Our Inspector's Highlights
• Willow Stream Spa is a stunner, a 13,000-square-foot retreat equipped with a eucalyptus steam room, mineral pool, a nail studio, an adjacent fitness center and salon five treatment rooms.

• The outdoor pool on the fourth level is an urban oasis with a sun terrace and comfy loungers.

• Fairmont Gold Rooms and Suites are a luxe step up with bespoke services (private check-in, complimentary suit and dress pressing) and access to an exclusive lounge that serves free-flowing refreshments all day long in a space with floor-to-ceiling windows and chic, comfy seating.
Things to Know
• The location is superb for exploring the city — it is within walking distance of the Philippine Stock Exchange and Greenbelt Mall, a high-end shopping area. In fact, the hotel has a private underground passageway to nearby malls.

• The Manila hotel has also allocated 18,000 square feet of space for business meetings and functions, including a ballroom that can accommodate up to 720 guests.

• Fairmont Makati shares the building with Raffles Makati, and some of the building’s amenities can be found here.
The Rooms
• Guest rooms have a stunning mixture of modern design and Filipino warmth through touches of coco-twig white resin, crushed mahogany seeds, abaca laminated glass, pearl in-lays and dark mahogany wood.

• Expect state-of-the art technology, including wired and wireless high-speed internet, a media connectivity panel, a control panel for lighting and entertainment and flat-screen LED TVs with 65 cable television channels. There’s also a fully stocked mini-bar with complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities, too.

• Opulent bathrooms are clad in marble with a separate walk-in rain shower and a deep soaker tub. Linens and robes are 100 percent cotton towels and the bath products are from Le Labo in New York and made custom for Fairmont Hotels.

• Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of the city skyline.

• The Presidential Suite is 1,657 square feet of luxury with a separate living area, a large dining table, an executive work desk, a fully supplied kitchen, a well-curated wine library and a marble bathroom with a soothing tub and a separate rain shower.
The Restaurants
• Spectrum is the all-day dining restaurant and has five “culinary theaters” around the main room including cuisine from China, the Middle East, India, Europe and the Philippines. Spectrum offers buffet for lunch and dinner, and à la carte dishes in between.

• Café Macaron offers gourmet sandwiches, delightful pastas (the smoked bangus pasta is a must), and delectable desserts. The highlight of the café is its namesake, the macaron — be sure to try the Filipino flavors queso de bola (edam cheese) and burong mangga (fermented mangoes).

• Welcoming guests by the lobby is the Fairmont Lounge, which offers light meals, snacks, and beverages. While the lounge is the perfectly intimate for get-togethers yet professional enough for business discussions, at night it transforms into a destination for cocktail lovers to enjoy drinks and unwind.

• The Pool Bar is located poolside at the luxury hotel on and is an ideal place to sip cocktails and nosh on snacks while basking in the sun or savoring the picturesque Philippine sunset.
