Pendry Manhattan West

A Midtown monument of contemporary design
VERIFIED LUXURY

Pendry Manhattan West brings a laid-back West Coast vibe to the East Coast. The Pendry brand’s first New York outpost, the newly built luxury hotel is a Midtown monument of gorgeous architecture with a rippled-wave glass exterior by acclaimed firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and calming, contemporary interiors by Gachot Studios.

The hotel resides in the new 40-acre Manhattan West development that includes a Whole Foods, Danny Meyer restaurants Ci Siamo and Daily Provisions, a winter ice rink and a variety theater. But you don’t have to leave the confines of Pendry Manhattan West to find everything you need.

When you're hungry, head to the stylish Zou Zou’s for shareable Eastern Mediterranean dips, mezze and more, or Garden Room, an all-day restaurant filled with natural light and green plants of all types. And be sure to grab a drink at the dimly lit Bar Pendry for sleek interiors, a flickering fireplace and classic cocktails, or the tucked-away Chez Zou, a gem above Zou Zou's where you can sip libations like the Dirty Zou (vodka washed with olive oil, grape leaf and garnished with Levantine-cheese-stuffed olives) at an inviting alcove bar.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The design, both exterior and interior, is spectacular. The ocean-like façade makes the structure stand out from the sea of skyscrapers, while the soothing, neutral-hued interiors provide a needed sanctuary in the city.
  • You’ll have a difficult time deciding among the bars here. In the lobby, there’s Bar Pendry, where a fireplace, low lights and NYC artist Nancy Lorenz’s custom-made mural behind the bar featuring a rounded gold-leaf pattern set an intimate mood. On the fourth floor, cocktail lounge Chez Zou tempts with unusual flavor combinations (like white rum and dill) amid colorful surroundings. And The Rooftop will be a scenic destination when it opens.
  • The centrally located West Side hotel puts you within minutes of Penn Station, the High Line, Hudson Yards, Madison Square Garden and other attractions.
  • Restaurant Zou Zou’s brings in noted chefs Madeline Sperling and Juliana Latif to create Eastern Mediterranean dishes in the open kitchen. Nosh on bites like hot kasseri cheese, fattoush, Kumamoto oysters and duck borek (ground duck wrapped in pastry tubes and topped with l’orange glaze and pistachios).
  • The best place to stay is the Pendry Suite. The two-bedroom corner lodging sits on the 21st floor and boasts a living room with a piano, fireplace, kitchenette and dining table that seats eight.

The Rooms

  • Each of the 164 rooms and suites comes with jaw-dropping panoramic views of New York’s iconic skyline from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
  • Equipped with Italian Fili D’oro linens, thick duvets and Bluetooth speakers, the light wood, white and tan rooms are steeped in effortless luxury.
  • The white marble bathrooms have walk-in showers and MiN’s Momento toiletries, which carry a scent of bergamot, lavender, rose, jasmine and patchouli.
