Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort, Punta Mita, Mexico

Eco-luxe, all-inclusive glamping

Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort in Punta Mita sits next to sister property Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico, but it couldn’t be more different. Forgoing the formalities of a traditional luxury hotel, the all-inclusive, adults-only Naviva invites you to experience your surroundings at your own pace. Long gone are rigidly scheduled activities, stuffy meals or even set menus. Here, your itinerary is tailored to your mood with the help of a dedicated guide (complimentary activities include a snorkel safari, an agave spirits tasting and sound healing). Debuted in 2022, it marks the brand’s first luxury tented resort in the Americas.

Privacy is paramount with just 15 ultra-luxe tents spread across 48 unspoiled acres. But these aren’t the canvas-covered accommodations from typical camping trips. Equipped with plunge pools, deep-soaking tubs and even air-conditioning, these tented retreats are the epitome of glamping.

By untethering you from your expectations, this secluded haven just might leave you with the feeling you’ve been searching for on every vacation thus far: peace.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • To revamp the glamping experience, Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort tapped upscale safari architects Luxury Frontiers to create its tented accommodations. The result is a luxurious escape featuring Mexico-sourced materials and locally crafted furnishings that allow the jungle views to shine.
  • Like the rest of the Punta Mita hotel, the serene spa beautifully blends indoor and outdoor living into a seamless jungle setting. Services are booked at your leisure with one treatment per person included in your stay.
  • Naviva’s secluded stretch often feels abandoned thanks to the hotel’s small size — though attendants will check in periodically to bring you cocktails or lunch if you so choose. A few cabana-covered daybeds are sparsely placed so you can soak up the sun without any other beachgoers in view. Naviva’s rocky beach isn’t good for swimming, but you can use the one at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.
  • Onsite eatery Copal Cocina is more of a culinary-centric gathering space than a formal dining room, and that’s exactly how the boutique hotel likes it. Chef Sofia Mojica serves up customized meals of Mexican favorites (it’s not uncommon to find a build-your-own taco bar featuring freshly roasted meats) and offers cooking and cocktail classes at your leisure.
  • Sustainability was top of mind for the luxury hotel nearly from the moment of conception. The property was built using low-impact construction materials, tents were specifically placed to maximize wind-cooling and a partnership with Source Water allows Naviva to extract and bottle water from the humid jungle air to limit environmental impact.

The Rooms

  • While technically considered tents, Naviva’s 15 canvas-covered accommodations are anything but rustic. The 1,250-square-foot open-air accommodations are spacious by any sense of the word and offer a luxurious hideaway in the heart of the Punta Mita jungle.
  • Among the creature comforts in the accommodations, you’ll find king-sized beds and covered seating areas, all equipped with air-conditioning. Charming vintage cocktail trunks are stocked with artisanal mezcal, and locally grown coffee is available to brew at a moment’s notice.
  • Locally hewn stone and handicrafts adorn gorgeous bathrooms for an authentic vibe. Deep-soaking tubs next to oversized windows are the picture of glamping luxury.
  • Outdoor living spaces are the pièce de résistance of Naviva’s accommodations. Furnished terraces, outdoor showers and plunge pools come standard, as do hammocks hung beneath the jungle canopy that beg for a mid-day nap.
  • Two Grand Tents provide extra outdoor space (1,700 square feet, to be exact) with a fire-pit-equipped two-tiered deck overlooking the ocean through the jungle foliage.
