MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa

Sonoma's newest luxury hotel

A former family estate and vineyard, MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa marks its 150th year with a multi-million-dollar transformation into Sonoma’s newest luxury hotel. One of the last-remaining buildings with Victorian architecture in the county, the property offers six acres with lovely gardens, a midcentury pool, a spa that uses flowers and botanicals (plucked from the onsite gardens) for treatments, Mediterranean restaurant Layla (led by Food Network Chopped winner Cole Dickinson in collaboration with celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian’s Zakarian Hospitality), coffee bar and marketplace The Porch and craft beer and classic cocktails spot The Bar at MacArthur Place.

Los Angeles-based SFA Design gave the 64 guest rooms a modern farmhouse vibe with contemporary metals and rustic elements, like sliding barn doors that open to alfresco showers. With the upgrades, it looks like this hotel will stick around for another 150 years and beyond.
