Palais Coburg

A historic palace in Vienna’s city center

Built upon the historic Renaissance fortifications of Vienna’s original city walls, Palais Coburg is a small luxury hotel, with just 35 exclusive spaces converted from the original palace architecture into unique suites for business and luxury travelers alike.

Inside the 19th-century neoclassical structure, you’ll find a blend of sleek glass-plated surfaces and bars, artfully combined with the historic wine cellars, Renaissance-era city walls and imperial architecture from the former palace of Prince Ferdinand von Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.

Head to the rooftop to indulge in the spa, which includes a whirlpool, a sauna, a steam bath, a pool and a sprawling sun terrace.

Another reason to book a room here: Palais Coburg boasts the last remaining view from the Ringstrasse to Stadtpark, best enjoyed from the balcony of your private suite.
Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The historic wine cellar vaults are home to more than 60,000 bottles from around the world, acquired over centuries from private collectionsand exclusive auctions. • Each room is named for a famous member of the Saxe-Coburg dynasty (the former owners of the Palais) and comes with ample space and light. Manysuites also include garden-facing views and balconies.
  • The restriction of 35 rooms gives Palais Coburg an intimate atmosphere, ensuring your stay is private and pleasant — more of a residence than a hotel.
  • The luxury Vienna hotel is also home to Silvio Nickol. Not only is this fine-dining gem a feast for the eyes and palate, but it is also regarded as one of the premier restaurants in Europe.
  • With a view across to Stadtpark or St. Stephen’sCathedral from its many balconies and a private garden, the Palais offers more outdoor options than any other luxury hotel in Vienna.
