Silhouette

A Celebrity cruise with an edge
VERIFIED LUXURY

Celebrity Silhouette debuted in 2011 as a Solstice-class ship, but it underwent a renovation in 2020 to incorporate the amenities of the brand’s innovative Edge-class series. The ship now features popular Edge-class staples, such as the Retreat Sundeck and 24-hour Retreat Lounge and chef Daniel Boulud’s special dishes at the all-day dining Luminae.

Additionally, the upgrades to the ship have included 1,451 redesigned staterooms, new and high-tech equipment in the spa and fitness center, and the upgraded picture-perfect Sunset Bar with hammocks. It also added Craft Social, a lounge where you can choose from more than 40 handcrafted beers, cocktails and wine.

However, the Solstice class’ most popular components remain, only improved. The Lawn Club, a half-acre top-deck green space, now boasts an outdoor movie screen and cabana-style alcoves available for private rentals. All generations of Celebrity Cruise fans will feel right at home on this luxury liner.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The onboard spa offers an impressive lengthy menu of treatments. Some of the standout services include destination-inspired services such as coconut-infused therapies found in the Caribbean, red-light Elemis Biotec facials and the Zero Gravity Wellness Massage. All treatments make use of the latest high-tech spa tables installed on the ship to enhance the overall experience.
  • The interiors of the ship's 1,451 suites and staterooms have been refreshed, taking inspiration from boutique hotels to create a new décor and comfortable experience. The redesign also includes Cashmere mattresses and new flat-screen TVs. About 85% of the accommodations come with a veranda, giving the staterooms a more spacious feel.
  • Celebrity has appointed renowned chef Daniel Boulud as its global culinary ambassador. Suite guests can relish Boulud's signature dishes at Luminae throughout the day. However, any passenger can reserve a seat at Boulud's Chef's Table to indulge in a five-course meal displaying the chef's mastery of French cuisine.
  • On the ship’s top deck, find The Lawn Club, a half acre of creeping bentgrass that offers an unexpected green oasis. Go there to play a round of lawn bowling or try out the three-hole putting course. Afterward, dine at The Lawn Club Grill, The Porch or Sunset Bar, all of which sit near the green space. You can even opt to spend the day here and rent one of the eight private cabana-like Alcoves.
  • It’s worth getting a suite to gain access to The Retreat, an all-inclusive area with perks like The Retreat Sundeck (a private area with cabanas, loungers, a hot tub, a bar and more); The Retreat Lounge (a 24/7 lounge with complimentary beverages, snacks and concierge services); and your own butler.

Things to Know

  • You will find no shortage of fitness offerings aboard. There’s a jogging track on the upper deck for an outdoor workout. A well-equipped gym offers Peloton bicycles, Technogym equipment and various classes, ranging from barre and yoga to guided meditation and breathing.
  • Accommodation categories determine the complimentary dining options available to you. Retreat guests have exclusive access to Luminae, AquaClass guests can dine at health-focused Blu, and all guests can enjoy the main restaurant. All venues serve dishes with seasonal ingredients sourced and inspired by the ship’s destination itinerary.
  • Passport Bar and Craft Social, two staples of Celebrity ships, have been made anew. Craft Social carries more than 40 handcrafted brews and cocktails, and Passport Bar, right off the ship’s grand onyx marble staircase foyer, provides the ideal spot to begin or end your time at sea.
  • Celebrity ships are known for culinary offerings, but they go beyond restaurants. The World Wine Tour lets you do wine tasting during your cruise, attend a food-and-wine-pairing workshop where you'll learn about the science of a perfectly paired dish, and enjoy a tasting flight specially crafted by the pros behind the Martini Bar.
  • The alfresco Sunset Bar exudes a country club’s easygoing atmosphere and, as the name suggests, provides an ideal spot for watching the sun sink into the water. Live pop music completes the sundown scene.
