Celebrity Solstice marked the debut of the Solstice-class ships on the high seas, and now, following a significant 2021 renovation of the 2,850-passenger liner, it has embarked upon cruising’s next chapter. In addition to redecorated staterooms, the Celebrity Solstice now boasts many Edge-class features that defined the latest generation of Celebrity Cruises as part of the brand’s $500 million project to revolutionize its entire fleet.
Now, like many of her younger sisters, Celebrity Solstice offers The Retreat suites loaded with perks, such as chef Daniel Boulud’s Luminae restaurant and dedicated lounge space. However, the many cruising firsts that made the Celebrity Solstice a splash when the ship first sailed in 2008 remain, such as the grass lawn and glass-blowing studio endure. Nature is a recurring theme throughout the ship — it merges land and sea with a ficus tree sitting in the atrium, a living plant wall growing in the solarium and the aforementioned grass oasis. She may be an older ship, but Celebrity Solstice is still a marvel.
