Our Inspector's Highlights
• Interestingly, salt is a major theme, both at the hotel (check out the signature restaurant Salt) and spa (try the warm salt stone massage). Pink Himalayan salt lamps cast a gentle glow over the space as the salt blocks naturally purify the air.

• If your stomach starts rumbling, you’ll have several refreshments at your fingertips. Help yourself to the yogurt-covered pretzels, golden raisins and crunchy vegetable chips in large glass jars in either the coed, male or female relaxation lounges.

• Our favorite treatment is the delicious Amelia Island Honey Butter Wrap,  which employs a wrap filled with organic oils, Himalayan salts and nutrients from honey detoxify and soften your skin. Hand and foot softening, scalp massage and a full body massage are all included.

• You can turn any massage on the menu at this tropical escape into a 60- or 90-minute couples treatment for you and a friend or significant other.

• Want to experience the beach without stepping foot on the sand? Listen to the calming sounds of ocean waves as you surrender to the  Sea Creations Energizing Facial that uses natural elements from the sea including beneficial thermophilus bacteria, sea silk and pearl protein.
Things to Know
• The easiest way to get an appointment is to visit the website. If you prefer to set up an appointment over the phone, give The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island's front desk a call.

• As part of Amelia Island's cancellation policy, you have up to six hours before your appointment to nix a treatment without penalty.

• If you've set up something that requires a little more preparation by the spa staff — for example, a full day's worth of treatments — you'll need to give one weeks’ notice. Large groups should notify the spa of any changes one month in advance.

• If you’ve booked a mid-day treatment, consider an alfresco lunch at one of the poolside tables. It’s the same menu offered at the resort’s Ocean Bar & Grill, with options like seafood ceviche, chilled shrimp dip and a jerk chicken sandwich.
The Treatments
• There are massage options certain to please just about anyone, from classic treatments using reflexology, hot stones and sports therapy, to a few unique offerings.

• A unique option is the Heaven in a Hammock in which you receive the treatment in zero gravity as you rock gently in a hammock's embrace.

• The Slim & Sculpt massage fights cellulite while increasing blood circulation and includes a self-heating body mask.

• Two for Your Soul doubles the healing power with two therapists working on your muscles. During the Hadashi, therapists hold onto ceiling bars and massage you with their feet.

• If you prefer a traditional treatment, try the Ritz-Carlton signature massage, which blends deep-tissue and Swedish techniques with aromatherapy to maximize relaxation.
The Facilities
• Aquaphiles are in for a treat, since luxurious and fragrant wet areas abound down the hall from the locker rooms.

• Enjoy the eucalyptus steam room, a handsome and spacious wooden sauna complete with sea salts in the heater and a heated Jacuzzi pool with two waterfalls that pour water into the pool from overhead.

• White tiled showers are stocked with Ritz-Carlton branded shampoo, conditioner, body wash and shaving cream, plus shower caps and razors near an urn of citrus-infused iced water on the wooden table next to the heated pool.

•  If you’re visiting Amelia Island during hurricane season (June to November) and the weather isn’t in your favor, don’t worry. An indoor swimming pool flanked by lounge chairs is at your service year-round.
