Talise Spa at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa

A water-themed desert oasis

As you enter Talise Spa at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa, the aroma of lemongrass instantly transports you to an exotic, tropical oasis. Quiet, relaxing vibes are induced by the calming sounds of a cascading waterfall while an array of cacti hints at the desert just outside the walls.

Around every corner of the 37,000-square-foot facility there is another surprise, be it a whimsical statue or unique artwork in a soothing spectrum of colors. Between 17 treatment rooms and two suites, the corridors are lined with warm wood flooring and lightly scented candles that lead the way.

The theme of water is noticed throughout the spa — hydro-pools, waterfalls and steam baths await to wash away your stress. From the Himalayan salt room to the steam-filled Moroccan bath, this is desert luxury is at its finest.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Be sure to spend some time soaking up the amber glow from the solarium (Himalayan salt room). Lie on a water-filled mattress as the warming light from massive, imported salt block walls boosts your immune system and purify your sun-kissed skin.
  • While the Kuwait spa is coed, ladies looking to sweat it out before relaxing can choose from various fitness options, including a private women’s-only gym and yoga studio.
  • For a different take on meditation, head for the color therapy room. This cool, dark space is illuminated with soothing tones of blue, purple and green that shift to sound waves, all choreographed to music on the surrounding walls.
  • Two themed spa suites offer a personal oasis, whether you’re looking for a romantic escape or a day of pampering with friends. Opt for the Himalayan Suite for access to a private Himalayan salt room, or book the Oriental Suite to enjoy a Jacuzzi and hammam with side-by-side marble scrub tables.
  • Once you’ve completed the steam room, hydro-pool and hammam circuit, finish your session with a visit to the Snow Cabin. Step into an icy, snow-filled room to boost circulation and finish the hot-cold therapy experience.

Things to Know

  • Those looking to visit the solarium should check the hours in advance — certain times are designated for men and women.
  • In keeping with Kuwaiti tradition, female therapists will attend female guests and male therapists will attend the male guests
  • For the best spa experience, arrive 30 to 60 minutes before your scheduled appointment. You’ll want that extra time to indulge in Talise Spa’s sumptuous facilities.
