Our Inspector's Highlights
  • SE Spa draws inspiration from its surroundings, using essential ingredients from ancient Mexican civilizations like the Mayans and the Aztecs to develop a menu of treatments named Flavors and Traditions of Mexico.
  • Known simply as the Water Ceremony, the hydrotherapy circuit is complimentary with each massage or treatment, allowing you to complement a spa experience through a series of steps that include different water experiences to revitalize the body.
  • The Experience Pool lives up to its name with plenty of elements to relax the muscles and the mind: massaging neck jets, water bubble beds, serene waterfalls, an exhilarating bubble volcano and a pebble walkway to soothe tired feet.
Things to Know
  • Couples may be interested in knowing that men and women have separate pool areas.
  • If you want to venture out to the beach post-spa, you will need to take one of the resort shuttles to get there.
  • The hotel staffers make it their priority to accommodate mobility impaired guests.
  • The hotel's Ambassador ambiance has the Spa Corner, so patrons can enjoy outdoor treatments.
The Treatments
  • While the spa facilities are certainly extravagant, the treatments themselves are every bit as luxurious. Typically ranging from 50 to 80 minutes, services include massages, body treatments and facials plus a few specialized therapies that combine all three (more on those later).
  • The Bacal Massage (Mayan for “corn on the cob”) starts with a corn and honey exfoliation and continues with a massage where essential oils are applied to the skin using corncobs.
  • Couples can indulge in an aromatherapy massage and a dip in the spa suite’s private heated pool. A citrus-themed body wrap service aims to exfoliate the skin and then drench it in moisture; and one of the facial options involves using gold particles and vegetal stem cells to moisturize and tighten skin.
  • There’s also a lovely beauty salon that offers traditional services like manis and pedis, haircuts and styles, makeup and men’s grooming.
The Facilities
  • The Water Ceremony takes you from the dry heat of the sauna through a color therapy steam room and on to a clay room and ice room.
  • A dip in the whirlpool and polar pool create a sense of relaxation then invigoration, while cozy loungers and a juice bar allow you to rest between steps.
  • Aside from the stellar water hydro circuit, you can delight in the rest of the spa, too — from the flotation room and relaxation area to the luxe locker rooms and, spa boutique and salon.
