Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon

A natural wonder in the Seychelles
VERIFIED LUXURY

Located on Félicité, the fifth-largest island in the Seychelles, Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon spectacularly blends into the surrounding untamed natural landscape. Giant granite boulders brim the shoreline and the spa’s treatment rooms are situated between the rocks, on top of the rocks and even floating above the ocean itself.

Two-thirds of the isle is wild and untouched, rich in flora and fauna, while the rest of it is inhabited by Six Senses Zil Payson. The spa sits on the fringe of the resort, secluded from main hub and hum of the property.

Up on a high hill sits the spa reception, which overlooks the Indian Ocean. From here, you are led through an open-air oasis to changing rooms before heading out to one of five treatment villas. A winding pathway leads to the villas, each in a different location and connected by suspended rope bridges. The wild aesthetic almost rivals what awaits inside the room.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The unique design of the spa was inspired by the island’s rugged topography — the buildings and pavilions were made to seamlessly meld with the landscape and vegetation, nearly camouflaged within it.
  • A saltwater infinity pool flanked by a sundeck is perched on a hilltop with expansive views of the sea. The spa’s nearby yoga and meditation pavilion also peers out to ocean.
  • Six Senses’ holistic yoga programs are three-, five- or seven-day-long treatment plans that integrate private yoga, meditation and spa services to garner a healthy body and spirit.
  • The Couples Journey treatment guides pairs through multiple practices performed together, including self-application of a myrrh body scrub and African healing masks, joint meditation using a love mantra, chakra healing with crystals, a massage and an aromatherapy bath.
  • Three of Six Senses Zil Payson’s guest villas are near the spa, ideal for those who are following a personalized wellness program or for those who plan to spend a lot of time indulging in treatments.

Things to Know

  • Yoga isn’t the only form of fitness at the resort — near the Seychelles spa is a modern gym with inspiring ocean views, cardio equipment and weights.
  • Six Senses hosts visiting practitioners from all walks of the wellness industry and you can book one-on-one time with them or take pop-up classes on subjects like meditation, chi healing and sound therapy.
  • Manis and pedis are performed adjacent to the reception area, which also houses a spa boutique selling yoga wear, jewelry, swimsuits and natural skincare product lines.

The Treatments

  • Organic skincare brand Terres d’Afrique joined the spa to come up with five journeys, elaborate treatments with multiple services. For example, The Rock Journey releases muscle tension with an African foot ritual, mediation, body scrub and deep tissue massage using crystals and wooden balls.
  • Locally inspired services are all over the menu, and many use local ingredients, too. The Afrique Mystique Facial fights aging with lymph wands and strong antioxidants found in Africa, while the manis and pedis feature cashew nuts, vanilla powder and coconut milk.
  • More conventional services are available, too. Spa goers can opt for deep-tissue rubdowns, head massages, facials, body scrubs and foot massages. Regardless of the treatment, the products used are natural and ethically produced.

The Rooms

  • Each of the treatment villas is in a different natural surrounding and was built to reflect its location. The Hanging Villa sits atop a rock with a large extended deck that creates a suspended feeling. The Ocean Villa is directly above the water and has sweeping sea vistas.
  • Built between two boulders and fully glassed, the Rock Villa has a rock shower on the edge of a cliff, while the Cave Villa is surrounded by boulders and has a swinging daybed and herbal steam area. Lush vegetation envelops the Nature Villa, which also has an outdoor shower experience.
  • Treatment villas are made of refined timber, and all have floor-to-ceiling window walls, which can be kept shut or opened to hear the sounds of the jungle or the waves.
