When The Mark hotel got revamped in 2009, the restaurant got an overhaul with it, and now, it’s under the watchful eye chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten (of Five-Star Jean Georges). Today, The Mark Restaurant by Jean-Georges is a destination serving up market-driven, seasonal fare with French flair. Choose from upscale comfort food, including the umami-rich burger with Brie and black truffle, crispy sushi and the fresh market vegetable salad.
For white-linen-covered tables, dine in the atrium, where during the day it fills up with natural light. And at night, the Moravian glass wall illuminates the room. If you want a more casual meal, choose to sit in the front room near the bar, where the copper tables aren’t covered, but you get the same fine-dining service there as you do in the main area. It also offers a 700-plus-bottle wine list that includes both old- and new-world vintages, which one of the New York City restaurant’s three sommeliers is happy to talk you through.
