Things to Know
  • Fairmont Royal Pavilion is about 17 miles from Grantley Adams International Airport and is easy to reach by taxi or other transportation.
  • If you find yourself wanting to explore more of the island, the luxury hotel is a mere eight miles away from the duty-free and specialty shops in Bridgetown, the capital city.
  • Though the Barbados hotel has always been welcoming to families, the resort did have date restrictions on guests 10 or younger. Thankfully, you no longer have to worry about calendars when planning group trips. Children are free to visit any time.
The Rooms
  • All of the newly renovated accommodations at Fairmont Royal Pavilion boast at least a partial sea view, comfortable king-sized pillow-top beds, flat-screen TVs, a refreshment center and a large bathroom with a soaking tub.
  • The Beachfront Suites, located on the ground floor, and the Oceanfront rooms each offer unobstructed water views and a deck or balcony where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
  • The Villa accommodations share a similar setting and include a terrace and living room and dining areas.
  • Interconnecting rooms are available with the Beachfront Suites and the Oceanfront rooms.
The Restaurants
  • Taboras, located poolside with expansive ocean views, is open year round for lunch and dinner. 
  • To reflect the island’s British influences, a complimentary tea service (once per stay) is also available in the space — scones and pastries paired with a cup of Earl Grey is a great way to spend the late afternoon.
  • Palm Terrace is the more upscale open-air setting for modern Caribbean creations. Dine on locally inspired dishes for breakfast (and the occasional specialty dinner) while taking in panoramas of the sea at the seasonal spot.
