Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston

Back Bay's striking skyscraper
VERIFIED LUXURY

Not many cities are home to one Four Seasons hotel, let alone two, but Boston now gets to proudly claim that distinction. Opened in May 2019, the sleek new Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street is the latest addition to the Hub’s skyline. Standing at 724 feet in the heart of Back Bay, it is also the city’s third-tallest building.

Sporting a new dining hot spot, an entire wellness floor with an indoor pool, a world-class art collection and stunning views, the hotel is destined to become another Boston icon.

Its location makes it convenient for either business or leisure travelers, and for the residents who call it home, the city is right at their doorstep. You couldn’t ask for a more luxurious amenity.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Shaped somewhat like a rounded triangle, the skyscraper is a stunning statement, with modern touches and awesome city views from every area. It was designed by architect Henry Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners in collaboration with Gary Johnson of CambridgeSeven Associates.
  • Art is not an afterthought at Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, with works curated by renowned art consultants Kate Chertavian and Lucy Rosenburgh. One striking piece by local artist Duke Riley is a mosaic above the reception desk titled They Say on a Really Hot Day, inspired by Boston’s Great Molasses Flood of 1919.
  • Spanning the entire seventh level, The Wellness Floor at One Dalton holds the hotel’s spa and salon, as well as a fitness center and impressive 64-foot curved indoor pool.
  • The luxury hotel managed to lure the wildly popular Zuma restaurant to open a location here. The Boston branch is the first Massachusetts outpost from the global brand.
  • Ideally situated in Back Bay, Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street makes it easy to get to attractions like Copley Square, the Public Garden, Fenway Park and the Museum of Fine Arts.

Things to Know

  • Budding bartenders can mix up a little fun with the complimentary dirty martini cocktail kit found in every room.
  • The 2,100-square-foot fitness center’s floor-to-ceiling windows might distract you from your workout, but it’s worth it.
  • The indoor pool is a nice perk, especially for a family vacation. Order lunch while you lounge as your tots play with provided pool toys.
  • One Dalton also houses 160 Four Seasons private residences on floors 26 to 61. Residents have their own dedicated elevator.

The Rooms

  • Perched between floors eight to 21, Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton’s 215 rooms and suites all offer floor-to-ceiling windows and marble bathrooms with spacious showers.
  • Thoughtful design touches such as soundproofing between the floors and cutting-edge in-room technologies mean sleeping and working in peace are guaranteed. Bedside tablets make ordering room service or making reservations a breeze.
  • For an unforgettable stay, book the Back Bay Corner Suite. The 900-square-foot space boasts two walls of windows, ensuring a great vista from every angle, even from the standalone soaking tub.

The Restaurants

  • One of Boston’s more unusual restaurants, Zuma is a modern take on an izakaya (a Japanese pub) decorated in gorgeous Thai woods. It also has a lively bar scene with a floating DJ booth, an interactive sushi counter and an open robata grill.
  • Dishes at Zuma include local fish, and there are more than 70 kinds of sake to sample. Start with plates like seared tuna with chili daikon or prawn and black cod dumplings before indulging in roasted Boston lobster with shiso ponzu butter.
  • Sleek One + One, on the second floor, is open for breakfast during the week and brunch on the weekends. Fresh-pressed juices, housemade granola and lobster scrambled eggs are menu highlights.
  • Trifecta lobby bar serves coffee and breakfast items, then turns into a lounge in the evening with cocktails and snacks. A small patio seating area helps you take advantage of Boston’s sunny summers.
