Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre

New York-style glamour in Dubai
VERIFIED LUXURY

Set in the commercial district of Dubai International Financial Centre — an upscale neighborhood where smartly dressed executives walk around briskly, take-away coffee cups in hand, and those with discerning tastes browse designer boutiques and art galleries — Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is a sophisticated enclave that scores on both style and location. Radiating 1960s Manhattan-esque glamour and offering world-class restaurants and bars, the hotel appeals to business travelers as well as those who enjoy the finer things in life.

The 275-room Waldorf Astoria DIFC occupies the 18th to 55th floors of the swanky Burj Daman, a skyscraper in an area where you’ll find plenty of top-notch fine-dining restaurants and trendy bars to let your hair down and play after the day’s work is done. The oldest neighborhoods of the city, with atmospheric souks, sand-colored wind towers and wooden abra boats plying the creek, are just a 15-minute drive. In the opposite direction, just 20 minutes away, lie newer attractions such as the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest skyscraper; man-made islands such as Palm Jumeirah and Bluewaters Island; and Ain Dubai, the world’s tallest observation wheel.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Design lovers will appreciate the elegant mid-century modern décor, inspired by the hit television series Mad Men, that evokes a brand of opulence one associates with a time long gone by and a place (New York) thousands of miles away. The Boulevard, the main entrance on the ground floor, makes an awe-inspiring first impression with a mirrored ceiling that reflects the patterned marble floor. The style is cosmopolitan throughout the Dubai hotel with the use of brass and bronze accents, leather furniture and bold sculptural statement pieces.
  • The rooms are warm and inviting with walnut accents and a soothing-to-the-eye color palette of cream, caramel and mahogany. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer plenty of natural light and spectacular views of the Dubai skyline. The marble bathrooms come with a separate bathtub and walk-in shower.
  • The signature restaurant Bull & Bear is a legacy of the original steakhouse, once at Waldorf Astoria New York, and has a history of more than 80 years. On the menu are classics such as the Bull & Bear burger and dishes with local ingredients such as the Dibba Bay oysters. Vegans and vegetarians have plenty of options with dishes like the beetroot risotto, eggplant parmigiana and the vegan bowl. The three-course Business Lunch offers excellent value for money.
  • With four treatment suites, each for a different kind of service, the spa has something for everyone. In the Vichy Suite, water therapies and a heated hammam table bring the ultimate relaxation while the Floatation Suite provides a weightlessness experience.
  • Even if you’re on business, it would be a shame not to enjoy Dubai’s bright and sunny weather. Luckily, the French Riviera-inspired rooftop lounge St. Trop is just the spot to park yourself poolside, smoke shisha, snack on mezze, and sip a sundowner, while enjoying live music and beautiful city views as a backdrop.
