Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s ornate, stately stay
VERIFIED LUXURY
With stunning harbor side views and easy access to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong has long been a top pick among savvy business travelers and heads of state since its opened in 1989.

A recent and extensive renovation unveiled sophisticated new rooms and an elegant club lounge, but the grand entrance and show-stopping black marble columns remain unchanged as they define the hotel’s ornate, stately character.

Our Inspector's Highlights
• From sophisticated Italian at Grissini, exquisite Cantonese fare at One Harbour Road and cocktails at The Waterfall Bar, the grand address is one of the top choices in the city when it comes to pleasing the palate.

• The pampering begins on the 11th floor, where Plateau Spa awaits. Featuring a minimalistic Japanese aesthetic, the treatment rooms and suites at this luxurious retreat come with bathrooms, timber floors and enormous soaking tubs.

• An adjacent fitness studio was refurbished from top to bottom in 2015 and features state-of-the-art treadmills, free weights and cross-training equipment.

• On the sprawling pool deck, you’ll find a 164-foot pool and a relaxing pool bar that comes alive after dark.

• Consider upgrading to the Grand Club rooms located on the top seven floors. As a guest in one of these rooms, you’ll get access to the Grand Club Lounge, a gorgeous two-story space offering daily breakfast, all-day snacks and evening cocktails and canapés.
Things to Know
• If you’re visiting the Hong Kong hotel during lunchtime, go for the Reuben sandwich at Grand Hyatt Steakhouse. It’s considered one the best in the city.

• In addition to a state-of-the-art gym, the Hong Kong hotel also offers two tennis courts, two squash courts and a golf driving range.

• Every stylish accommodation features black-and-white photographic prints by Hong Kong-born Australian artist John Young Zerunge.
The Rooms
• The stylish new rooms showcase a sleek, contemporary look, trading in blond wood furnishings for a neutral palette of charcoal and beige with tasteful pops of red.

• The concept incorporates a mix of old and new, such as Chinese-inspired chairs and motifs juxtaposed with sliding doors and slick furnishings.

• A thoughtful design makes the rooms feel like home with residential touches like a dining table that doubles as a desk — many also happen to face sweeping views of Victoria Harbour.

• The smallest accommodations start at 430 square feet and each features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking lush terrace gardens or the water, beautifully appointed bathrooms and use of a complimentary smartphone with 4G internet.
The Restaurants
• One of the most popular restaurants on the premise, Grand Hyatt Steakhouse, specializes in surf and turf — think U.S. prime cuts and an oyster bar.

• Kaetsu, an authentic Japanese restaurant, flies in fresh seafood daily for those looking for a lighter meal.

• Regardless of where you head for dinner, don’t miss the iconic afternoon tea at Tiffin, which also delivers an elaborate dinner buffet.

• The most recent additions to the dining stable include an interactive teppanyaki grill at The Teppanroom and a 1920s-inspired Champagne Bar, which is a romantic way to top off the evening.
