The Royal Garden

Hong Kong’s natural oasis
VERIFIED LUXURY
At home in Hong Kong’s “Wall Street,” the Tsim Sha Tsui financial district, the towering Royal Garden has always catered to the millionaire bankers and financial gurus who buy, trade and sell.

However, more than just a center for suits, The Royal Garden’s stellar service, Caribbean-colored rooftop pool oasis, local art and windows boasting some of Victoria Harbour’s most sought-after views draw in leisure travelers.

Boasting a 110-foot atrium illuminated with natural light, indoor gardens planted on nearly every surface and a soft, element-inspired color palette throughout, the hotel makes nature a huge part of the design aesthetic. In the 450 recently renovated rooms, you’ll find the same soothing elements — like blond-wood desks, plush white duvets spruced up with light gray pillows and simple yet modern Chinese-influenced artwork on the wall.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The Sky Tower Suites, located on the 18th and 19th floors, feature interiors by Bilkey Llinas Designs, and vaunt simple and clean accents with a little spunk, like the brightly painted statement artwork hanging above the gold or beige furniture and the floor-to-ceiling windows offering a glimpse into the skyline that makes Hong Kong so famous.
  • The hotel’s rooftop Sky Pool spans more than 250 feet and offers 360-degree views of Victoria Harbour, featuring a Mediterranean theme with tall walls painted in bright oranges, yellows and blues and a spherical standout dome.
  • At the Royal Gardens’ spa (located in the Sky Club) indulge in a full-body scrub; a soothing facial treatment; hand and foot massages by Thai, Balinese and Southeast Asian therapists; and a variety of other treatments dedicated to promote full relaxation.
  • Food is one of the reasons to check into this hotel. Find amazing Japanese fare at Inagiku Grande, Italian at Sabatini Ristorante and regional Huaiyang cuisine at Dong Lai Shun.
Things to Know
  • If you can, book one of the spacious suites, many of which provide incredible views of the atrium or the harbor.
  • Not quite as opulent but equally as stunning, the premier rooms still give you the million-dollar harbor view.
  • Located on the 12th and 14th floors of the hotel, the exclusive Crown Club is built for the traveler who needs more personalized attention. It includes a dedicated concierge, a complimentary buffet breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as well as free personal pressing service.
The Rooms
  • Featuring imported gray or beige marble, wall-size mirrors with gold frames and unique statues decorating the shower or toilet alcoves, the bathrooms are both functional and enticing (especially the deep soaking tubs that have their own private TV).
  • Starting at 330 square feet for the standard rooms and going up to a comfortable 1,180 square feet in the suites, the rooms are pleasantly larger and more open than other big-city hotels.
  • Along with the standard amenities, like flat-screen TVs, included Wi-Fi, complimentary bathroom products and more, the rooms have custom-designed three-layer mattresses made just for the Hong Kong hotel.
  • Suites come with a private dining room and sitting area, a large bedroom complete with intricate silk tapestries over the bed and a marble bathroom with a giant soaking tub flanked by expansive windows overlooking the bay.
The Restaurants
  • Royal Garden’s Dong Lai Shun restaurant serves a unique blend of traditional Chinese and Huaiyang cuisine with a wide variety of Asian ingredients — like paper-thin slices of Mongolian black-headed mutton or wok-fried crabmeat rock lobster with salted egg yolk.
  • For those craving Japanese, try the lauded Inagiku Grande Japanese Restaurant. Located on the first floor of the luxury hotel, it is most famous for its tempura, which has been battered, dipped, fried and perfected for the better part of more than 100 years.
  • The property’s flagship Vietnamese-meets-French-fusion restaurant Le Soleil sits on the beautiful third floor. It gives you a stunning view of the hotel’s plant-studded atrium.
  • Royal Garden’s culinary programs extend past the traditional and comfortable Asian influences with restaurants ranging from Sabatini Ristorante’s Roman menu to the global buffet at The Greenery.
