Delano Miami Beach

South Beach's scene-stealer returns
VERIFIED LUXURY
Few hotels have shaped South Beach quite like Delano Miami Beach. Since opening in 1947 — and later redesigned by Philippe Starck in 1995 — the oceanfront property has embodied the city’s blend of glamour, design and hedonistic energy. Following a six-year restoration, the landmark returned in 2026 with a refreshed look while preserving the indulgent spirit that seduced rock stars and tastemakers for decades.

It all begins with a theatrical arrival. Step under the columned portico and into the sky-high art deco lobby, enveloped by white curtains. In this luminous, warm space, restored columns, terrazzo floors, cascading staircases and soft cream hues soften Delano’s famously all-white aesthetic. Across the resort, 171 guest rooms and suites — including poolside bungalows and penthouses — pair contemporary comforts with a fresh palette.

Beyond the accommodations, two pools, an expansive stretch of sand, an upcoming “social wellness” concept and destination dining elevate the experience.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Historic character remains front and center. Restored architectural details, such as the terrazzo flooring and signature hexagonal columns, are complemented by contemporary furnishings, soft lighting and an airy neutral palette.
  • Starting from 364 square feet, Delano Miami Beach’s accommodations embody understated sophistication. Rain showers stocked with Byredo bath products come standard, while higher-category suites add soaking tubs, walk-in closets and expansive terraces overlooking the ocean or skyline. Ideal for entertaining, the two-story poolside bungalows remain among the resort’s most sought-after retreats.
  • Once known for its epic parties, the resort is shifting gears toward wellness. The Source by Delano, a social wellness concept, is expected to include a 22-seat sauna, cold plunge and steam rooms alongside a fitness studio outfitted with white Technogym equipment.
  • One of South Beach's most legendary pools, the Delano pool has been restored to its former glory. Surrounded by towering palms, fresh white umbrellas and sleek wooden loungers, it’s both a scenic centerpiece and a symbol of the hotel’s revival.
  • The beachfront setting places guests in the heart of Miami Beach. Lincoln Road, the Miami Beach Convention Center and South Beach’s nightlife are close at hand, while the Atlantic Ocean sits just beyond the resort’s palm-lined grounds.

The Restaurants

  • The first American outpost of Mimi Kakushi transports diners to the creative underground of 1920s Osaka with its dramatic interiors, creative takes on Japanese cuisine and an innovative cocktail menu that’s earned multiple accolades. Conveniently, the restaurant is available exclusively to hotel guests and members of the Delano Members Club.
  • Bringing a touch of Mediterranean glamour to Miami, Gigi Rigolatto also makes its U.S. debut at the Delano. Channeling the spirit of Italy’s grand seaside escapes, the elegant indoor-outdoor restaurant serves crudi, handmade pastas, seafood specialties and shareable plates in an atmosphere that feels equal parts Riviera glamour and South Beach exuberance. Better yet, if you’re lounging by the pool or on the beach, you can still order from the restaurant’s menu without leaving your cabana.
  • Bathed in natural light by day, the Bellini Bar provides a stylish space that’s ideal for sipping Venetian classics by the water. Try the signature Il Bellini di Gigi or the refreshing Felicita, alongside an array of Italian classics as you while away the afternoon.
  • A fixture of South Beach nightlife since Delano’s heyday in the 1990s, Rose Bar helped cement the hotel's reputation as the place to see and be seen. Reimagined as part of Delano Miami Beach's return, the moody, crimson-hued lounge features a glowing red bar and scalloped leather stools, where you can sip on beautifully executed classics.
