Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Stunning Western Australia sunsets are best enjoyed with a cocktail in hand at Songbird Bar & Lounge. The Ritz-Carlton, Perth’s swanky poolside lounge offers enviable river views and a menu of avian-inspired sips like The Songbird (vodka, rose vermouth, locally grown Davidson plum, lime and plum bitters).
  • Hearth Restaurant and Lounge showcases the best of Australia’s bounty in a variety of flame-grilled preparations. Menus are presented with a map detailing where the day’s ingredients were sourced and an open kitchen allows for a front-row seat to your meal being prepared over a dramatic hearth grill.
  • Gorgeous bathrooms steal the show in the 205 stylish guest rooms and suites. A stunning spa-like space, complete with a deep-soaking tub and rain shower combo anchors the beautifully back-lit space, providing a serene retreat at the end of a long day.
  • The smartly designed Ritz-Carlton Spa takes full advantage of Perth’s nearly perfect weather with ample indoor-outdoor accessibility. Be sure to spend some time soaking up the sun from alfresco vitality pools or steamy saunas overlooking nearby Langley Park.
  • Gin connoisseurs will find plenty to love about The Ritz-Carlton, Perth. The luxury hotel provides a wide selection of locally made botanical spirits in in-room mini-bars, at its dining outlets and, most notably, at the Club Lounge’s DIY gin bar stocked with four types of gin, Fever Tree tonic water and an inspiring array of flavorful garnishes.

The Look

  • The Ritz-Carlton, Perth’s lobby was designed to mimic the winding passageways of Western Australia’s breathtaking Karijini Gorges with its sandstone-hued walls, towering ceilings and cascading chandeliers inspired by the gorges’ waterfalls.
  • The lobby’s intentional design does double duty as a striking ode to nature and an effective way to funnel cool air through the space — a welcome break from Perth’s sometimes stifling sun.
  • The pink mirrored glass in the upper portion of the building’s exterior is symbolic of Western Australian sunsets and the pink Argyle diamonds from the East Kimberley region, while the colored yellow glass in the lower portion of the building reflects Perth’s sandy beaches. The building shines gold at sunset, beautifying the Perth cityscape.

  • The Perth hotel’s Ritz-meets-rustic aesthetic comes through in the form of more than 10,000 blocks of locally quarried Kimberley sandstone and sleek wood floors artfully paired with sparkling chandeliers, marble accents and plush art deco-inspired seating.
  • Subtle local touches abound throughout The Ritz-Calrton, Perth. Look for dried native flowers adorning Hearth and works of art fashioned from local shells in the hotel’s hallways. River sand was even mixed into the paint to achieve a textured effect.
  • A 19-foot-long wall sculpture in the lobby by local artist Jon Denaro contains colonial artifacts excavated from the site during development. Shards of blue and white transfer-printed ceramics are held in place by thick copper wire on a brass rod structure, giving the essence of the river and rhythm of the ocean against the Kimberley sandstone backdrop.
