Lotte Hotel Seoul

Seoul's sophisticated stay
VERIFIED LUXURY
From the moment you leave the bustling streets of Korea’s capital and step inside the lobby of Lotte Hotel Seoul, you are greeted with elegance. Impressive chandeliers, marble flooring and golden fixtures are prevalent throughout this luxury Seoul hotel, giving it an appearance reminiscent of a palatial home. It is evident that no expense has been spared in its construction, and that the greatest attention to detail has been given to every square inch.

A color scheme of neutral browns and beiges gives the rooms and suites throughout Lotte Seoul a look of simple sophistication, and at an average size of about 430 square feet, the standard rooms are larger than most you can find elsewhere in the city.

Foodie travelers will be spoilt for choice by the various fine-dining options available. From French à la carte at the illustrious Pierre Gagnaire à Séoul, to a British high tea at The Lounge that would satisfy even Queen Liz herself, your taste buds can travel the world without even having to leave the comfort of the hotel.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Lotte Hotel Seoul is one of the few to feature a "ladies only" floor, ensuring the safety and comfort of female solo travelers. The floor is accessible only by key card and includes an expansive lounge area.
  • Blending traditional Eastern herbal medicine with modern technology, the hotel’s Sulwhasoo Spa specializes in pampering treatments that utilize natural Oriental ingredients. The spa comes from one of East Asia’s most highly regarded skin-care brands.
  • The luxury hotel is the first in the city to have its own salt room. Book a treatment that includes a visit to the relaxing chamber.
  • Select from six restaurants to dine in style. Our favorites are excellent French fine-dining establishment Pierre Gagnaire à Séoul and upscale Korean fusion restaurant Mugunghwa.
  • Fashionistas and shopaholics can enjoy both duty-free and luxury shopping at the adjacent Lotte Department Store, which houses brands such as Chloé, Louis Vuitton and Hermès.
Things to Know
  • Located in the bustling Myeongdong district, Lotte Seoul is in the midst of a seemingly infinite number of Korean and international stores.
  • Seoul’s historic Hanok Village, and a number of former palaces are just a five-minute trip away by car or subway. Have the concierge order you a cab to Anguk, or take the subway to the station of the same name.
  • All rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi for the duration of your stay. Breakfast is available at an additional fee.
The Rooms
  • From both sides of the building, you have a stunning view of downtown Seoul: the South Korea president’s Blue House to the north, and Mount Namsan to the south. The only variant is that the higher up the building you go, the better your view.
  • All rooms at the Seoul hotel come equipped with advanced tablet controls so that you can adjust the lighting and curtains without even getting out of bed.
  • Rooms in the main building carry a more modern aesthetic, with deep grays, tans and white and dark wood. The new wing accommodations have a lighter palette, with beige-and-gray striped wallpaper.
  • You’ll sleep well — the hotel gives you a choice of 15 different kinds of pillows.
  • Molton Brown toiletries can be found in all bathrooms. Rooms on the ladies-only floor also receive additional products from the luxury British perfumery Penhaligon’s and accessories and styling tools are available on request.
The Restaurants
  • Pierre Gagnaire à Séoul is an upscale fine-dining restaurant serving traditional French cuisine with creative flair. Pierre Gagnaire is one of the founding fathers of fusion cuisine, and the restaurant is praised locally for introducing Korea to French cuisine.
  • Situated on the 37th and 38th floors, Lotte's Japanese, French and Korean restaurants have breathtaking views of the city.
  • Each restaurant has an exquisite and expansive selection of wines, expertly chosen by the Myeongdong hotel’s own sommeliers to provide the right accompaniment to your food.
  • You may be a long way from London, but that isn't to say that you can't have a traditional British afternoon tea. Head to The Lounge for an array of teas, sandwiches and cakes while you enjoy the backdrop of the fine artwork, exquisite chandeliers and live jazz.
