Celebrity Apex

An innovative second act

The second ship in the Celebrity Edge series, Celebrity Apex made her first departure in May 2020. Celebrity Apex incorporates the same well-received, revolutionary design features of her slightly older sister, the Celebrity Edge: the Magic Carpet, the world’s first cantilevered venue at sea, and “infinite verandas,” where instead of a balcony, a button opens the floor-to-ceiling windows in the staterooms and transforms them into indoor-outdoor spaces.

The aesthetic, atmosphere and offerings onboard cater to a hipper crowd with a developed sense of taste. Imbibe at spots like Craft Social (a craft beer bar featuring 40 varieties of artisanal pours), savor delicious fare (including select dishes from heralded chef Daniel Boulud at Luminae restaurant), bask in the sunshine in the many alfresco spaces and incorporate some wellness into your routine with the ship’s gym, spa and thermal suite.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Of the ship’s 29 restaurants, bars and lounges, the bartenders’ theatrical flourishes when pouring cocktails at The Martini Bar and the photo-worthy vistas of The Sunset Bar stand out as the most attractive options for where to begin the night.
  • The onboard nightlife never feels tired with a calendar of fun events — grab a headset, choose your preferred live DJ station and dance the night away beneath the glowing lights at the onboard silent disco or catch a show in the high-tech theater decked out with a 20-foot-tall 4K LED screen that curves 110 feet around the stage. Meanwhile, kids can choose from 500 activities at the Camp at Sea program.
  • Apex impresses with its forward-thinking design. In addition to the Magic Carpet and the infinite-veranda-equipped staterooms, there’s Eden, a multi-story restaurant/bar/performance venue that’s steeped in nature with a wall of windows and verdant greenery dotted throughout. The Rooftop Garden offers an open-air space with ample seating and a sculpture garden that hosts outdoor films and live music.
  • Focus on your wellness in the adults-only solarium’s indoor pool and Jacuzzi, the expanded gym with Peloton bikes and F45 fitness classes, and a spa oasis with a thermal suite (a ritual with eight experiences, including a hammam, crystalarium, salt room, float room and rainfall water therapy room) and more than 120 treatments.
  • The Retreat resembles a hotel club lounge but offers much more. Accessible to Suite Class guests, the luxurious two-story sanctuary includes private restaurant Luminae, a resort-style sundeck, a lounge and a dedicated concierge.

The Staterooms

  • Suite Class amenities include a remarkably spacious cabin with twin sinks, a bathtub and a living area, bonuses like a welcome bottle of champagne, reserved theater seating, a personal butler and the most covetable perk: exclusive access to The Retreat.
  • The majority of the ship's 1,467 stylish staterooms and 176 suites include an infinite veranda — the spaces are 23 percent larger than the Solstice series staterooms.
  • Regardless of category, all staterooms feel well thought out and comfortable with sleek minimalist touches and a soothing gray and white palette courtesy of acclaimed interior designer Kelly Hoppen.
  • The easy-to-navigate technology allows you to personalize your room’s lighting, shades, temperature and service with the press of a button.
