The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen

Urban sophistication meets traditional luxury

Over the past few decades, Shenzhen has evolved from a humble fishing village into a booming metropolis, home to fast-growing tech start-ups, glitzy shopping centers, art galleries and renowned restaurants and bars. And The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen sits in the middle of all the action.

Set across the street from the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian, the city’s bustling central business district, the sophisticated property enjoys an ideal location and equally impressive interiors inspired by nature and art. With an expansive spa, a tea lounge, a jazz bar and three polished restaurants, the hotel guarantees a sumptuous stay.

Tack on all the Ritz-Carlton touches you know and love — Club Level access, Rolls-Royce limousines, complimentary shoeshines — and you’ll never want to leave.
Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The Ritz-Carlton brand prides itself on attention to detail. And no detail goes overlooked, including the pillow menu, which offers seven different choices; the aromatic Asprey bath amenities; artisanal pastries; and expertly prepared martinis.
  • Of its 280 rooms, the hotel boasts 41 suites, but the namesake Ritz-Carlton Suite certainly stands out. This 4,800-square-foot, two-bedroom oasis welcomes you with a two-story entrance, 270-degree Shenzhen skyline views, free-standing marble tubs and even more extravagances.
  • The spa celebrates Chinese culture by including ancient wellness traditions and healing botanical ingredients in many of its treatments. For example, the two-hour Heaven & Earth ritual seeks to improve energy flows throughout the body, using warm stones, foot reflexology and aromatherapy.
  • Considering Shenzhen’s burgeoning reputation as a hub for meetings and conventions, business travelers will appreciate the hotel’s world-class meeting and event facilities. Not only does the Ritz-Carlton have the largest ballroom in Shenzhen with the capacity to accommodate 600 conference guests, but it also provides a range of exclusive resources, including a conference concierge, “technology butler” and floral artist on its event team.
  • If you seek a unique space to host a gathering, just look upwards to the hotel’s lush rooftop garden. The 120-guest capacity space can accommodate private dinners, wedding banquets or other special celebrations.

The Restaurants

  • Cantonese, Sichuan and local Chiu Chow fare shine at Xingli, the hotel’s opulent Chinese restaurant. Locals and travelers alike love the handsome, classically appointed décor, as well as the chef’s succulent roasted pig and goose, spicy Sichuan fish and delicate dim sum.
  • One of Shenzhen’s finest Italian restaurants, Paletto, focuses on internationally beloved classics, like risotto al tartufo, lamb chops, pizza and grilled seafood — all with elevated, modern touches. For a more intimate experience, you can book a private dining suite, too.
  • Flavorz takes all-day dining up a notch with a vibrant market concept. Chefs hold court at live cooking stations, preparing Chinese and Western dishes, including all the classics, from hot pot, noodles and dim sum to flame-grilled steaks and seafood. An impressive selection of desserts and wines completes the experience.
  • In a touch befitting the Ritz-Carlton brand, the hotel’s flagship bar, Curv, creates a moody, warm atmosphere with red- and olive-hued velvet furniture. The drink menu entices along with the ambiance — think martinis and champagne cocktails accompanied by live jazz.
  • Those looking for a relaxing afternoon treat will find plenty to love at Onyx. The third-floor tea lounge feels like a sanctuary from the bustling city below, thanks to a premium loose-leaf tea selection, serene live piano music and a traditional afternoon tea experience.
