Like with the rest of Edgewood Tahoe, Spa Edgewood has a certain kinship with its surroundings. But then again, it would be nearly impossible not to embrace the lake and the lovely pines. So, rather than even attempt to fight the urge, spa designer Hirsch Bedner Associates wisely called for the outdoors to come in through hard-wood flooring, neutral colors and furniture carved from local trees.
But it’s not just in the physical appearance of the eight-room sanctuary where an appreciation for Mother Nature is shown; you can feel the peace at play through almost every aspect of the place. The waiting area has teas and trail mixes to keep you nourished before a service. Seasonal treatments are proudly packed with just-plucked ingredients. The public spaces even have a signature scent reminiscent of a fall Tahoe day.
From sign-in to checkout, an experience at Spa Edgewood is a lesson in how luxurious things can be when they’re done in harmony.
- Beyond the treatment rooms, the 8,500-square-foot facility includes
women’s and men’s steam rooms, a coed indoor/outdoor hot tub and a waiting area
with a grand fireplace as its centerpiece.
- Couples get special attention here. After a tandem treatment
concludes, lovebirds are gifted with a sweet treat (could be chocolates or
champagne) they can enjoy in the privacy of their own little cove.
- The Tahoe spa goes beyond the pedestrian snacks in the waiting
area. Because you’ll find everything from broccoli and squash to golden raisins
and melons, you could skip lunch and still be in luck with this midday spread.

- Keeping with the spa’s overall theme of bringing the outdoors
in, every room is named after some form of local flora (like Sugar Pine, for
example).
- Speaking of sugar pine, you’ll smell a mixture of it, alpine
lupine and a few other delightful aromas wafting through the facility.
- A 2019 makeover will introduce radiant
heating and a privacy wall to the outdoor hot tub area while new ottomans and
side tables will make the waiting area even more comfortable.
- While a few services on the menu use ingredients from the
area, the Sierra Stone Facial is one of our top picks because it employs the
energy of nearby rocks to help your skin look hydrated and stay glowing.
- Many spa visitors also happen to be golfers contemplating
their next round on the gorgeous Edgewood Tahoe course. Athlete-specific
treatments such as the Pre-Golf Warm-Up, Post-Golf Therapy and the realigning
Sports Massage help get club-wielding guests back on the greens in no time.
- The seasons play a big role at the spa. Autumn happens to be
one of our favorite times because of options such as the Fall Harvest Facial, a
70-minute indulgence that includes a yam and pumpkin enzyme peel, a harvest
