Located on the 37th floor of the Toranomon Hills Mori Tower in the Toranomon Hills development, the 14,500-square-foot club and spa of Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills is a study in serenity. Anticipate an arena where delicate lighting diffuses through paper lanterns and various gurgling pools and baths cover half of the spa.

The reception area, in the same sandy tones that appear throughout the spa, has expansive views of sky, the horizon and the Imperial Palace.

In addition to the spa, the club has a full gym featuring the Artis line of Technogym equipment connected to a cloud-based platform that provides gym junkies with a trove of interactive training regimes.

The spa has a standard treatment menu but also offers the option of specialized treatments under a program called Jiyujizai, which aptly translates to “your creation.”

• For a competely personalized experience, opt for the four-plus-hour Jiyujizai. An in-depth consultation reveals the best treatments for you, taking into consideration your favorite season, musical style, cusine and spa goals. 

• The Blend Bar has an attractive boutique quality about it, with large displays showcasing vases, herbs and essential oils. The stools have bases that recreate the lines of the nearby Tokyo Tower.

• Water babies will cherish the various aquatic features, from the three-lane, 65-foot pool finished in Japanese stone that supplies views of the Imperial Palace to the baths that use carbon dioxide micro-bubbles to improve blood circulation.

• Work up a sweat in the sleek fitness center. offering a variety of cardio and strength equipment, free weights and stunning vistas of Tokyo. 

• During your visit to the Tokyo spa, you can expect refreshments like fresh tea and infused cocktails.

• The hotel is in a fascinating part of Tokyo, with Toranomon, or “tiger’s gate,” being a key component of the historic Edo Castle, today part of the Tokyo Imperial Palace.

The Treatments
• Facial and body treatments feature the naturally bioactive luxury skincare lines of Biologique Recherche (Paris), Elemental Herbology (London) and Kotoshina (Kyoto).

• At the Blend Bar, therapists follow an apothecary-style process to combine seasonal fruits, herbs, minerals and oils for use in treatments.

• The Remodeling Face system treatment using Biologique Recherche products utilizes four electric currents to tighten and tone the skin.

• Couples treatments in the AO Suite include the Indulgence, a three-hour journey with a double body exfoliation, a bath soak, a thermal clay wrap to soften the skin and a vitamin-C and kombucha facial.
The Rooms
• All five treatment rooms have spellbinding views, looking onto Tokyo Bay and the Imperial Palace grounds. Part of the grounds includes the Ninomaru Garden, with trees representing each prefecture in Japan planted in its northwest corner.
